"Hey, my son got a crotch rocket". I was up at a friend's house Friday night, and we were having some beers and checking it out. He wasn't there, but his insurance/paperwork was tucked under the strap on the passenger seat, waiting for plates.
Got a call this morning from my buddy Tony, the kid took it out last night, illegally passed two cars and slammed into the back of an SUV. He had the bike one day. He's in the hospital, he'll survive, a few broken bones and a concussion, but the important part is that he'll walk away from it. He had the bike ONE DAY. Didn't even pick up a helmet yet, was fortunately wearing an old snowmobile helmet he had laying around. On mother's day, his mom is spending it in the hospital.
Pretty sobering. And all the more reason that if you want to go fast, please for fuck's sake take your ass to the track.
Be safe out there guys.
I feel bad for the kids parents but what a fucktard

My sentiments exactly man. The only bright side is that he's alive, didn't kill anyone, didn't break his neck and will be able to walk away and (hopefully) never throw a leg over a bike again. It's a small consolation for his parents, but it is what it is.
From what I hear, to make matters worse one of his father's friends actually called him earlier in the night to say "Hey, I just saw your kid blow by me going 100+." On a 30mph backroad. Ugh.
I'm sorry but lmao WTF man...some ppl should not own bike...100 in a 30? Crazy man he is
I crashed on Mother's Day 1999... I'm in the cage today going to Natick.
I am lucky to be here today. Seriously lucky. I should never have survived my late teens and early twentys. and thirties. yeah...and some of my fourties.
I had my share of life lessons. Now, I'm more than happy to let others have the experience that they can share with me...
...maybe this young man will have learned a lesson here too....

You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
Happens all the time.
Did this accident happen in the Haverhill/Groveland area? I saw a kid earlier in the day going WAY to fast. Passed me and waved me on like he wanted to race.... I gave him the finger. Fucktard.
Me no likey crash
yea he was bein an idiot but whos to say he shouldnt ride again remember when you got your first decent car, you didnt hit the highway and see what that bitch would do weve all had lapse in judgement somepeople get hurt some people just get caught and you lucky assholes just get away with it im sure he learned a lesson and can respect any machine a little more and his judgement a little less we should just be happy he wasnt another statistic ... well ok he was
And my opinion is that when a member decides to "lmao" at the fact that another member's friend almost lost his son to a motorcycle accident said member is a d-bag. I'm not sure if I have ever thrown out the ban emoticon but I guess I am not included in the "everyone is entitled to their own opinion".
not to mention it's his first post
Damn thats a crazy story...I hope he makes a full recovery.
Wow I didn't realize thecaused so much of a stir, guess I'll have to use it more often

I talked to my buddy tonight, and he's actually already out of the hospital. Concussion, a bunch of stitches and I have to assume a few broken bones, but what's absolutely amazing is that he walked out of the hospital.
I don't know how fast he was going, but the bike is a complete loss and most likely so is the SUV that he hit, so it had to be a decent impact. Lucky, lucky kid, and as said above, I just hope he learns a good lesson from it. Stories like this always make me shudder. I wasn't that big of an asshole when I rode when I was younger, but I wasn't exactly an icon of safe and courteous riding either.
wow glad he is ok but I hope he doesnt do that again
