    Bieffe Predator

    Hey everybody,

I've been scouring the internet looking to replace the faceshield on my Bieffe helmet. I've looked everywhere, tried every combination of searches and no luck. Anyone have any secret supplier of obscure Italian helmet parts?

    Thanks,
    Matt

how old is it? asking because I had one sitting on a shelf for a long time and the foam went hard as cement.

    Re: Bieffe Predator

Its 4 years old, and it also has been sitting a while, but the foam is nice and plush. A little moldy, but I threw it all in the washing machine and they're as good as new. I'm probably should get a new helmet though, isn't the recommended maximum life of a helmet around 5 years? I thought that if I could find a replacement faceshield I could at least still have it as backup.

    Re: Bieffe Predator

I have noticed this helmet mentioned on some 4 wheeled racing discussions. But, Bieffe lists this helmet under their Motorcycle section, and I purchased it at Razee's... Just curious, what does the upside-down peak at the chin do for car racers?

Also, the chin area maybe looks so big because of the relatively narrow cutout for seeing out the helmet. Much less periferal vision, forces me to swivel my head much more deliberately to get a good view of what's around me. NOT a great feature of the helmet.

Motorcycle Helmets and car Helmets Are very diffrent, a Car Helmet is designed to take many smaller impacts in an accident (such as a barrell Roll Or flip ) and a Motorcycle Helmet is more for taking one big hit,

    Just something I read somewhere

You need a new helmet, Get a scorpion for a Hundred and change. You will be safer

    Just an FYI,

I own that exact helmet. After buying an Arai, HJC and Shoei, I would never use it again. I'd hang it up on the shelf.

    LOL Stoneman,

But the advice is appreciated, and suggestions to hang it up are helpfull.

I've already owned a Shoei and a HJC, liked them both. I am interested in the modular helmets though, the Nolan N102 seems to have some nice features, and they're a reputable brand, right?

I've jacked my own thread, but any info on Bieffe Predator visors would still be great.

Sorry but can't resist - the flip top front style helmets are not approved for track days, correct me if I am wrong.

As true as this may be, you won't find a better helmet suited for eating donuts and/or ice cream!

    Mmmmmm, donuts...

Allie's donuts in North Kingston, RI, oh my freaking god! I'm lucky enough to "have" to drive by it twice a week with my daughter. I blame it all on her.

Something to consider regarding the track regulations with modular helmets.

I got my helmet used with my bike.. its a nice shoei, but probably around 5 years old or so. I keep hearing that you should never wear a used helmet. Dont know why tho.

5 years= NG for racing but for street its your discretion. Used helmets? I wouldn't buy a helmet thats already contoured to someone else's head.

After 5 years a helmet SHOULD be replaced. Do we all di it with our street helmets? Most likely not. Racers are madated to do it.

I bought 2 $400 helmets last year. Guess what. They are no longer good to use racing.

As for wearing used... They conform to the owners head (if they were fit right) they should be snug on your head, and if used they may be conformed to someone elses head.

    Just a thought.
