Just purchased this Gilles Shifter Support for the 929. Hoping it will clean up the clunky shifting these bikes are known for. Anyone have any experience good/bad?![]()
These add stability and help prevent missed shifts when you stomp the lever or shift hard.
Clunking? You'll never get rid of the clunk, though I've noticed 20-50 synthetic oil makes it shift a lot quieter than 10-40 dino based oil...and that's on a Suzuki gearbox. Also 10-40 full synth is quieter than it's dino counterpart. If you've ever heard a Suzuki gearbox clunk, it's about comparable to an Abrams tank.
You're not hurting the bike at all by adding one, but you're still going to get that clunk. Welcome to the world of sequential gearboxes
