Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
that sucks, at least they are on camera and possibly ID-able by the vehicle..
also just so that nobody else watches the whole damn thing it starts at about 2 min 57 second mark...
it's obvious that the front wheel lock i use is totally effective.
lo-jack? alarm?
fuck carrying a chain around.

"fuckit!"
WOW!!
what a ballsy move
wow....thats pretty f'n bold. on a busy street in broad daylight? damn....
You don't need "full insurance" to cover theft do you?
Just comprehensive I thought? You can get comprehensive without collision... when I "disable" the insurance on my bike I keep the comprehensive on, it's supposed to cover someone stealing it out of the garage or a fire, etc..
Those thieves have some balls.. right in the middle of the day with tons of traffic!
Looks like New York city to me from the signs and
look of the street.
Need to have your bike at least chained to a stationary
object. Buys you more time, the more time involved the
more possibility the thieves move on to easier pickings.

My front disk brake lock is now pointless!
I just said full coverage to make a point, I dont know what covers what. I need to have full coverage cause of my loan, so I have that all year. Makes it nice if I decide to do a little snow riding come january, dont hafta worry about insurance.
Whew!
Good thing I ride a boat anchor and not some measily 600...![]()
I didn't see a front plate on the van. Perhaps that's why it backed up along the street. They probably knew about the camera.
That totally sucks though. I didn't even occur to me that a bike would fit in the side door of a minivan. I suppose you'd have to take out the seats, then it's a pretty big opening.

well clearly I wasn't paying attention![]()
I viewed it a few times.
That happens more than you think. The local malls are big targets. I know of 6 bikes stolen out of the Square One Mall last year.
Me no likey crash
These guys knew what they were doing - no front plate, and a blue Chrysler mini-van. How much more non-descript can you get for a vehicle? Even if it got called in by someone monitoring the camera feed - there is no way the police could stop all the minivans for inspection. As far as the front plate - turn the corner, get out, throw the plate back on - presto.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
LoJack is a very good idea.
