I've run into that with my KZ1000P. I call it the puddle of mud (Oil/Gas Mix). I think for mine, it was a float getting stuck on the #1 carb.
I've replaced the vacuum petcock with a pingel on/off petcock and stopped worrying about it. I did have the carbs rebuilt recently (didn't want to try and do it myself).
Good luck!
You didn't by chance, oh I dunno, turn it to prime instead of on?
Nothing like firing up the bike or sled, have it start then die.......then kick it over / pull the starter cord for half an hour gettin all pissed...then realize the fuel is off
Never done that before![]()
no prime on my carbs lol its a stuck float needle in sure from number 3 carb.
i would love EFI on my bike, it can be done but its gonna cost me lol

Ahh...well then that sucks. Been there done that, including pulling them apart to clean them and so on. At least nothing caught ablaze.
I know a guy who had a similar problem on a snowmobile, except it stuck while he was riding. About all that was left, was the engine and melted bent skid-rails (rear suspension) the rest of the sled melted or burnt.
So with that said, it could have been a bit worse for ya![]()
true, now im sure a stream of carb cleaner is headed towards the eyes lol not looking forward to that. i will get started tonight.

Man, I musta been big time lucky with my NighthawkS. I never had em tuned, sync'd and fed them nothing but mid-grade gas and a bottle of Techron in the spring. I had that bike 23 years and around 80 or 85 thousand miles. Never paid any attention to them..
Gawd bless Mikuni..
lucky. dont rub it in. lol
well i got them all squared away. 2 hrs 12 mins start to finish and reinstalled and tuned WAHOOOlook what i found...

should you label pic#2 as nsfw?

Mind the "air plugs". If those are old/cracked, you'll run lean.
I've replaced every replaceable part in my 750's carbs. If you need help, feel free to ask.
Then we should do a 750F SS ride!

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
There is very little clearence
If the pivot is warn or slightly bent float can jam against side of the bowl
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
carbs are done, cleaned, put back together and are already back on the bike. runs great no leaking now i just need to adjust my cam chain tensioner

You are supposed to get the bike running, loosen the bolts, then tighten back down after running for a minute or two. I just did it on mine last week, but now I have to check the #1 carb float again.
