recomendations on brands?
where do you get em?
what do they cost?
i am tired of getting to work and having my hand be numb for the first half hour.
Motomarket has Gerbing heated jacket liners on sale right now for $169. They have connections built in for their sweet heated gloves.
I'd go heated gloves/jacket! Then you can't take it with you to the next bike.

my jacket is plenty warm enough though. my extremities are whats bugging me on the cool 6 am rides to work
i dont think i need the vest.
not yet at least.
It may sound funny but try putting on latex gloves on under your regular gloves. They will not let any of your body heat out. It helps.

Go here and search for Heated Grip.:

You can get the simple element type heater and they work great. I had them on my RF and rode in weather under 30 degrees. They go under your regular grips. I bought them at Razees for about the same price. I wired them into a relay so they could only be on while the bike was on. Another tip is to wrap the left handlebar with electrical tape so the heat doesn't sink into the bars as much. I should probably pick some up for the TL now that I think about it. Snowmobile shops should have them also.
He'd never ride the bike, too busy giving hemself "exams".Originally posted by lopycam

If you're hands are getting cold right now it is not your hands/gloves that are the problem, but something else.
Heated grips may help but they are like putting a band aid on a gunshot wound if you're riding in jeans on a naked bike, or wearing a vented/mesh jacket. It is really not cold enough now to be needing any heated jackets, grips, etc.. if you're wearing a full suit of gear. Basically you are losing heat somewhere on your body, and your body just shuts off circulation to your hands first, so that's where you feel it. If you ride in jeans while it's cold, even with heated grips/gloves your hands may still go numb and feel cold.
Get your whole body covered with a windproof layer and your hands will stay warm down to really low temps.
The Gerbing's jacket/liner is the bomb, as it pumps all the heat into your torso, fooling your body into thinking it's warm. Then you don't lose circulation to your hands & feet and you feel warm all over.
I still want to get the grips for those summer rides where I get caught in the rain and maybe don't have a heated jacket with me, but the jacket is the way to go.
Maybe we can get a heated grip group purchase going if enough people want them. Now that I got my bike wired up for accessories I want to get some soon. I already bought some switches & stuff to put a switch on the dash for the grips as soon as I get a kit.
Course the fairing on the falco would be coming in handy right now.

whats with all that jibber jabber fool!!!!
i like not having the fairing. its the "total" motorcycle experience.
it really is my hands... ok, and maybe my legs, that are cold. my torso is plenty warm. i just cant bring my self to put those cortech pants on and then walk into work.
i actually put my liner in today. one piece at a time. nothing to drastic you know.

I put on a set called Dual-Star (or something like that) last year. I'll never own another bike without them. They are awesome. Simliar to the picture of the elements that someone else posted. $30 bucks, and comfortable down to high 30's... (nothings comfortable after that, only tollerable)

Seriously? Get the heated jacket liner. Your tender vittles inside your chest will stay warmer (even though you think they are warm) without costing you warmth at your extremities.
