    Handroid or Phantom?

I need new gloves, mostly for the street but will be on the track too. I have dialed my search down to the Knox Handroid, or the Held Phantom.

What would you get and why?

Any other gloves you would suggest?

I was on the verge of getting the Handroid, but ultimately couldn't justify that much money on gloves. To me they seem like they offer the most protection, but I think I've seen some iffy reviews online. I really like the idea, though, and it looks like they should work well.

I have never owned either one. But I do recall reading a couple times about the Handroid gloves having a plastic piece fall off or a seam splitting. I have never come across a complaint about the Phantom's.

Handroids haven't gotten good user reviews.... and IMO, the external stuff is all gimick.

I'm currently have a pair of Phantoms and am also in the market for some new gloves....

I'm going to either buy my 2nd pair of Phantoms or go with the RevIt Jerez... those things were super comfy and comparable to the Phantoms in quality, price & construction. Definitely worth a look.

I have the Rev'it jerez and they are the balls, I would stay away from the handroids imho.

I've got the Held Steve as a road glove, and would happily buy Held gloves only from now on if someone else were to supply the budget. IMO, worth the money, particularly as I've had cheaper gloves simply fall apart (some without even crashing).

    Re: Handroid or Phantom?

Held has a great reputation, there are no if and or buts, they are great gloves, just make sure you get the correct fit.
Trying Other brands of gloves seems like a gamble, your going on mixed reviews, I don't think Held has any bad reviews.
When you lay out your money on held gloves, you know your getting a proven piece of saftey equipment.
Price, google held and watch the prodution proccess, something like 90 pieces are sewn together. Then google the other brands and see what you come up with.
I highley doubt you will find a pair of Held gloves that are actually worn out to the point of nonrepair from normal use and crashes. Then look how many other brands only last maybe 2 or 3 seasons before the seams fall apart, or the leather wear through.
Money saved in the long haul, and that's not even saying anything about the amount of protection they give you.
You won't apriciate the protection value untill you have had a chance to use it.(crash)
    And that's MHO

    Re: Handroid or Phantom?

What about the Titan? Phantom retails for 289, while the Titan goes for 349. Is it worth throwing down the extra 60 bucks, or overkill at that level?

I've got Akiras which used to be right below the Phantoms but they may have been discontinued.
