I think riding has lowered my "faith in humanity" bar

Every time I pass a left turner or a car coming out of a sidestreet and they carefully look around, see me, and wait for me to go by... I mentally yell at them, "Thank you for not killing me! You're a wonderful human being! I love you byyeeee"

By the way there are tons of Godzilla foot potholes out there... safe riding, everyone.

Oh yeah, I should wave. First ride of the season though, my hands were clutching the handlebars like that cracked out squirrel holding onto its acorn in Ice Age...

Fookin' guy texting on 3-south this AM. I paced him for a few hundred feet giving him the stink-eye.. either was too into the text to notice, or didn't give a fawk.

Hope he accidentally texts profanity to his boss or something.

Every time I stopped while exploring yesterday, someone would walk up and ask, "It's not too cold for that is it?" I didn't realize so many people from the tropics moved to Vermont.

As far as texters, I was trying to figure out how to mount a pouch filled with small water balloons to wake up the yahoos.

Riding has fully confirmed the fact that most people have no idea how to operate their cars. And that goes for almost every state.

Re: I think riding has lowered my "faith in humanity" bar

Its this time of year when it starts , the stories about the infamous left turning car cutting off a bike.
Just for that reason I wait a few weeks to get my bike out , and hope that the drivers get used to seeing bikes on the road again.

You MUST ride like- 1. You're invisible. 2. Everyone is out to KILL YOU!! - because both are true!!! Faith will NOT get you home.

If I had a louder horn, I'd probably pull alongside so my headlight was right by his ear, slide over so I'm 3 feet away and lay on it.

This would come in handy for a lot of things.

Yeah, I definitely have the "everybody is out to kill me" mentality... that's why it's so delightful when drivers display thoughtfulness and awareness of their surroundings. Pretty easy to please these days...
