They're just trying to limit supply, back to the way it was 10 years ago. Jap cruisers are so good now that the only real selling point now for Harley is resale value. And now that they've flooded the market, used Harleys aren't holding their value. So they're cutting back on production to try to make it something special to own a Harley other than the fact that you're on a first-name basis with the service department.
I'm not much of a Harley fan, but they build a pretty solid bike these days.
They have some quirky stuff now and again (like almost all bikes) but overall, they're quality control is a lot better than it use to be.
They've had record sales for years. Pretty sad to see it decline
Frankly I was suspicious that a lot of Harley (and other toys) sales were home equity loans.
