This time of year I start thinking about new gear
Helmet - ATS-1 | 6D Helmets
Anyplace local where I could try one on?
Overpants - REVIT Airwave 2 Pants :: MotorcycleGear.com
Armor - Dainese Light Wave Jacket - RevZilla
Anyone have experience with these? Alternatives I should consider?
Gear choices are subjective based on fit, style, head shape, etc. I will say, though, if you go try on helmets in a store and find one that you like, you should also try to buy it there. One of the reasons it's so hard to find dealers with stock on hand is because so many people use local inventory as a fitting room and then buy online. I'm not against online shopping if I know what I want, but I also don't mind paying a reasonable premium to help the local guy survive. I like having him around. I have found a few who will negotiate a bit when it means the difference between a little thinner margin and no sale at all.
If Dainese gear fits you, it's very nice stuff. I have no experience with Revit, though. Good luck shopping.

Manchester (CT) Honda/KTM had just sold out of some 6d helmets when I stopped bye a few months ago. They may have restocked. Recommend calling to see if they have some for fitting.
Seacoast Sport Cycle carries Rev'It! and many other higher end brands, and they're actually cheaper then online by a huge margin. I don't know why that is, but they somehow manage to undercut everyone online, so I'm glad to buy there.
Rev'It! stuff is European cut (despite the fact that they now do American sizes), so slimmer and more form fitting. I'm not sure if the Airwave are actually considered overpants, my Airwave 2 jacket is pretty form fitted. That said I do love it, it flows tons of air and I plan on buying the Airwave 2 pants at Seacoast very soon.

Thanks guys. Haven't been able to find anyone that stocks 6D street helmets within a reasonable drive. I'm reluctant to order without trying it on but doesn't seem like there's an alternative
Dunno where you live but Cycles has a few 6D helmets.
