Well, just for the hell of it I woke my SMC from its winter sleep. It was outside all winter under a carport. No battery tender, no stabil, nada. I was skeptical, but I tuned the key and the lights came on. Stabbed the button and she fired in 2 seconds and settled right into a smooth idle. Gotta love fuel injection! My carbed bikes can't sit more than 3 weeks these days without needing to pull the pilot for cleaning, nevermind starting cold after a long winter sleep on a weak battery.
+1 for modern bikes. i left my 12R in storage in AZ for 6 months while i went to iraq. i left in a rush. no stabile no battery tender...came back. rolled it out, bump started it and that was that.
oh and yay for spring on the way!!!
i'm praying this is the same scenario that unfolds once i get to finally fire the Husky. it's just been sitting since my wreck in Nov![]()

I hear the trick is to go tubeless tires.... some place around does it for the spoked wheels....
