I am looking for a new helmet and I tried on the Joe Rocket Carbon Fiber one. I liked how it fit and it was very light. Does anyone of you have opinions good or bad? What do you think?
Thanks
Sheppo..

Any reviews online? I can't think of anyone that wears JR helmets. For that kinda cake you could buy a Shoei or something that's got a wider customer base & is more trusted.
Doesn't look bad though.

The guy seemed to like it. Of course that's his one & only post on that forum... makes ya wonder.

From his last post in that thread, seems like it's better than the HJC version.![]()

I just bought the similar HJC AC-12 at Brockton Cycles last month. It's last years model w/ closeout price of $199 (normally $399 i think). I haven't used the helmet yet so no thoughts there. Fits me very well though; only downside I noted was that the shield is a bit clunky to move compared to my Shoei RF.

Definately don't try and save a few dollars (both for safety and comfort reasons) when it comes to head protection. I was going to buy a Scorpion EX1000 just to get something different than the RF1000 (which I already own). However the RF1000 is a great lid (if it fits you properly) and I found a good deal on a couple of models, if you like these graphics. I got the blue Camber myself.

Now that i've been using it for a bit... The AC-12 Carbon does have a noticeable amount of wind turbulence in the front jaw area (where your chin is). And the visor has the a little bit of optical distortion. A nice thing is the replaceable cheek and liner pads; you can order different size combinations to fit you better. And its light. Overall I like it, but it is a slight step down from my Shoei.
I just bought a shoei x11 for $375 off ebay. They are real cheap at the moment. This is my 2nd x11 and love it.
