So integrated tail lights are no longer legal in MA. Anyone have a stock '02 F4i tail lying around?
I know this isn't in the FS forum, but I can't post there yet. I'm a big n00b... on this forum anyway.
Come visit me dude. We have cheap legal stocks and mounting plates in our shop. Lights $16 ea. and mounting plates $20.

Integrated tails aren't legal? What shop did you go to? News to me...
I've been informed that integrated tails themselves aren't illegal. However, the inspection requirements state that the blinkers must be minimum 9" apart.
I went to Greater Boston Motorsports in Arlington. They passed me with flying colors last year. Supposedly the law changed.
Take a trip to Breaklites in Peabody. I'm sure he has many tail light lying around that he won't mind selling you on the cheap.
Just jimmy rig some $20 blinkers on some "L" brackets comming off your plate mount and take them off when you get the sticker on. I have an intergated light myself and I didn't get a fail for that but if they did thats what I was going to do.
It's not illegal to have the intergrated on so no need to get a new tail light as long as the brake works!!, just add some blinkers 9" apart, basically on the opposite sides of your plate which is around 7 1/2 i think!Originally Posted by imkindafkedup

So even if you have separate blinkers the integrated is still illegal??
Sorry I guess i was wrong??
I was just speaking by my own experience, never read the actual rules though...
I had one last year on my old bike and the guy made me add the separate blinkers and i went back and he passed me. This year i went to a different place and they passed me without even saying anything about the integrated and i didn't have separate blinkers because i just got a new bike??
ANOTHER MESSED UP THING!!... The only plate light I had was on a fiberglass plate frame I made with LED's on it and it was the only thing he gave me shit about. made me take the plate frame off because you can't have anything covering the plate AT ALL but still passed me even though that had my plate lights on it.![]()

October '08. I guess that'd explain why I passed last year with no problems.

read the updated "rules" and can honestly tell ya that it took gbm 5 minutes to give me a sticker, with the exception of them telling me my plate angle is unacceptable.(bent the fuckin thing down and goodtogo). So I dunno if they are using a team of 15 people to inspect my bike, just don't give a shit, or just relize that half of the rules on that document are bullshit. But either way there is no way people are checking everything.
i got a sticker no problem
