Just curious. seeing as we get a lot of snow here, and we're all motorcycle nuts. anyone riding one of these machines? or modifying their dirt bikes to ride? i know there are a few on the snowest forum, but they're all out west.

incase people are like. wtf is he talking about. but i doubt that
I own a SnowHawk, one of the original fan cooled 501 units, but I have yet to ride it on the trails. I hope to get it out there sometime this winter.

i've never seen a snowhawk on the trails in my 18 yrs of snowmobiling. I'm wondering if the mixture of hardpacked/icy trails would make life difficult for it. I have a ZR 600 with delta II's, clutch kit, and other assorted shiz that I don't ride nearly enough
That's pretty freaking cool, but it's wicked expensive. Much cheaper to just stud up a used set of knobbies and put them on your dirt bike. Granted, that wouldn't work too well in deep snow.
I wonder what those VAST nazis think of these things.

so far, the snow hawk is legal but i don't think the bike conversions are yet. but they are in a lot of other states. but that wouldn't stop me from getting the dirt bike conversion kit, because the coolest thing about it is going out and singletracking through the trees. the snowhawk and explorer are built just north of us in Quebec City
