Post'em up....
122.8 rwhp
68.x(I forget) ft. lbs torque
but..lol according to TLRman.... 122.8 x 1.018=125rwhp
The last time I went was back in March I think at New England Motorsports and it was cold and rainy it hot 121.5. I did an airboxectomy and added a K&N. I guess it works ok...lol but Bad Dog's orange Z hit 123 even..![]()
with a set of yosh slip-on's which I am told doesn't add any hp..
97.1hp/54.0lb-ft
Assuming the 1.018 correction, 98.8...
Which at least tells me my motor is at least making what it's supposed to.
All in all I think I care more about the tires & suspension feeling right on any given day than a few horsepower!

120.7 HP / 74 ft/lbs.
Now I have to get the TLR motor built before October.

Can someone expalin the dyno results in "dummy" terms. I just don't understand it, and I want to. I want to be able to read the numbers and go "eh, that makes sense! That dude has a sweet bike, blah, blah, blah"
Thanks ahead of time for anyone willing to explain.![]()
Getting back into the game! Looking for my next bike!
zx10r
max hp=148.8
max torque=74.0

runnin a little lean from 3g to 5g's with the correction 106.17
Beth:
Dyno numbers are a way to run your bike or car on a machine with big rollers or that attaches two/four (for AWD or 4WD) pots to your "car".
During a "pull", the rollers now provide resistance (to rolling) against your tires so the engine work to "roll" the (now harder to turn rollers) can be measured in torque and HP.
Computers and graphs are used to show the work output over time and to give you the graph which everyone shows their buddies.
The machine is used in a specific way (gear, start RPM etc, to determine how much actual HP the vehicle is putting out.
It is expensive and usually is used to verify claims that this exhaust or this K&N filter actually added x amount of HP for the $$$$ someone spent.
For instance:
You buy a bike with "100 HP" ( a lot for a bike), and drive it around and dyno it, you'd expect it to be around 100 HP.....
Ford Cobra owners dyno'ed some special edition car that supposedly put out near 300 HP, and found out it only did the same as the older model (I think it was an actual DROP in HP vs. the other) and some buyers did a class action suit over it.
Turns out that if no-one contested the Ford numbers, the owners would have been smoked.
Engine tuners use the dyno to "real world" test their product too.... and to get the claimed HP numbers. However, the graph is useful to determine whether a "mod" is really worth the peak HP they print out.
If your bike makes 100HP or near that in a bigger area on the graph, it may be better than a "mod" where the HP spikes up to some number higher than 100 (in this example) for a second.
There are many schools of thought along the HP and torque curve....................... flatter torque curves mean more driveability.
Say you rolled on a boosted turbo bike that hit this huge spike in power during its RPM climb, the wheels may uncontrolably spin or break loose and make the bike "twitchy" to say the least...........

Suf Daddy.
Supposely, mine from the factory, puts out 136HP (carb)
the fuel injected 'Birds put out near 172?
Sourced:
I'll check.http://www.cbr1100xx.org/newhome.html (no graph)
use the left scroll bar to go to, XX specs, then below it to Performance testing data.
Some of the Torque graphs measure in Newton Meters (Nm) not our ft/lbs Foot Pounds............

Or
fuel injection adds 36 hp?

if the peak torque is at 10k rpm, guess what rpm im gonna be if i want to make a quick pass.
edit: well on the straight that is.

no, I said HP @ 5k
I just picked what I thought might be an average cruising rpm,
when your cruising down the road at 5k, you don't have 150hp on tap till you get your revs up.
I'm trying to get an idea what bike has the most power immediatley available on the street

since you'r not talking racing, all it takes is a quick down shift really. only a second.![]()

Yeah, I say THAT much of an increase is suspect, but.... I could be wrong. Carb vs. Fuel Injected. 136 vs 172.
Beth, here's a chart

Good numbers guys, wish I could have gone out there with ya.
I would say that CBR100XX number of 172hp is at the crank, not the wheel.
That 5000RPM question, on my Busa I have 86HP and 87ft/lbs at the wheel at 5grand.
(not that it matters since I didn't go to this with you guys)
