...trying to calculate fuel mileage (My 500 gets 50 mpg. The gas station is 10 miles away, the gas can for my law mower had more than a 1/5 of a gallon in it, right? Yeah, I'll make it...) when I notice lightning off in the distance.(the way I'm heading...) I'm on the interstate. I come over this hill and the road is flat. Basically a big field. Now, what kind of a lightning rod am I? I've never really heard anyone talk about the dangers of riding in a lightning storm. I was wondering if the action of the bike and myself moving through the air is causing any sort of "static charge". Thus making me a bigger target. I don't know enough science to know if my theory is realistic. I just got to thinking...![]()

Jankster, I think it works like this, If it is you, then you make a great lighting rod and would probably get struck for sure.. If it is someone else there is no way they would get hit, Murphys Law always works...
