You will not get points but it will still show up as a loss on your insurance and will cause your rates to go up. I just went through this with my insurance company and I wanted to kill themOriginally posted by HBerry
Sounds like someone is planning on having their bike stolen?
If its not your fault, generally it doesnt cause you to get points or steps on your license. However any time you insurance company has to hand you money, they get mad, and as snow said you lose discounts.![]()

i can now chain to the front wheel of my shitbox.
"fuckit!"
I purchased a enclosed trailer to act as my garage/ security plus I can use it obviously for hauling bikes! I still have everything inside all locked together as well as have the trailer backed in with the front (Hitch side) of it burried into the woods and chained with a 30' cable to a telephone pole and a large tree!
Other things I have done in the past for security is Chaining the bike to anything from a car to a telephone pole, another bike or the anchor that was posted up from parts 411. I may buy that anchor for when I have to leave the other bikes here and only transport one bike!
Ussualy I just lock the dirt bike and R1 together and cover them both with covers that say nothing on them at all, and kind of look cheap! This whole deal with no storage or garage is one of the small dislikes I have with owning my Condo.... Other than that it's great, barely any upkeep involved- & No yard work what so ever!!!![]()
