Hey Guys,
I have heard that you should always store your bike in a heated area during the winter months. I didn't want to pay $80/mo for a storage unit and I needed an enclosed trailer anyway so I have decided to buy one from a member here and in a few weeks should be done paying and taking delivery.
However if I am to store my bike in the trailer over the winter months is there anything I should add to the fluids on the bike to keep them from freezing? Is this going to harm my bike?
I am not sure if the radiator fluid comes from the manufacturer with anti-freeze in place, what about brake fluid, etc.
If storing it in the cold is really that bad I might look to find some heated storage.

The cold won't matter and your bike will be fine as far as fluids go. It's all set.
Gas it up, treat it, top it off and pull the battery or put it on a tender and forget it...and on stands if you have some

I've never stored any of my bikes in a heated space, always outside, in the garage, or woodshed. Never had issues with the cold. The only issues I've had are the damned mice in the woodshed and fuel gumming.
I store 3 of my bikes in an Enclosed trailer up here in the cold of Vermont. No worries.

I've stored 3 bikes in a unheated shed (windows that let the sun in, low roof) and the trackbike in an enclosed trailer (until it goes in the basement for teardown) and I used to have problems with condensation making everything damp until I found the solution (trust me, I tried everything)----AIR CIRCULATION!! I keep a fan running on low, 24/7, in both the shed and trailer (just run a cord from outside if you need to) and I have no moisture/rust problem at all.
Take the battery out, bring it in and put it on a Battery Tender.
If storing until spring, no need to worry bout fuel stabilizer, unless your paranoid.
Good idea to get the tires off the ground (again, till spring, no harm)
Block the tailpipe(s) (I use the tops of spray cans) if there's a mice problem---you'll never know unitl you know!!![]()
They do make little solar powered fans
They run when the weather is fair and bright and not at night or during storms
You may want to think about trailer protection, like a tongue lock.
As entertaining as it would be, I imagine no one really wants to read about your new bike and trailer being stolen this winter

Oh yea I will have the trailer locked down too
However if anyone wants to try to pull the trailer through the 2-3' of snow we might get this year then props to them. I will have it pushed all the way into our back yard and only one way to get there, through the driveway. Then they have to go through fence gates and about 40ft of snow to get where it will be
I also plan to cover the trailer with tarps, mainly to protect the trailer exterior from the elements.
put the bike on stands so that the tires don't get flat spots
