Just a reminder to put your policies back in full effect as some elect to put it into "winter lay-up mode" with GAYCO over the winter months. They don't automatically switch it back until May 1st and I know a bunch of us have already started riding or never really stopped.
Met an old dude at the chiropractah this a.m. who told me about a bike accident he got into "back in 74" (and the rest of his life story to boot). He was struck by a dude with no insurance but the cheap bastid decided not to pay the extra $35/mo./or yr. (I was considering sipiku by this point) for uninsured motorist coverage.
He said he had broken ribs, a huge hematoma around his kidneys and liver, hella fucked up back, and I chimed in by adding "and a ragingly sore asshole from not taking the coverage?" He giggled, and nodded. He then told me he was a bus driver and subsequently took over the route that ran by this guy's house every day...and has considered hitting him with the bus on an almost daily basis.
Motto?Get the right insurance coverage and don't fuck with crazy old fuckers who drive for RIPTA.
Duct tape is like "The Force". It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
If you use State Farm you are automatically covered for those early Spring (even Winter) rides; there is theoretically no lapse in winter coverage even though their policy cost assumes minimal riding during the off-season.
