Trying to set up insurance for my new bike... What insurance companies do you guys use? What rates do you get? How much coverage would you recommend? I'm not sure where I should start as to who I should go to first, and I want to get it done asap...
All help appreciated
Congrats on the bike. Am happy as hell for you dude.
State Farm. $350 a year for an 07 gixxer 1000, full coverage. I have my cage with them too, without the cage the bike would be a little over $500.
Find a local agent and get your VIN #'s ready, you just might be impressed with the results. I can't find any cheaper insurance.
Yeah, right now i'm just flipping through the yellow pages calling people near me getting quotes, haha. People don't seem to like the fact that I just got my mc license and that I've only had my massachusetts license since the end of march (I transferred it over from a different state). So far, out of three people, I've gotten one quote, one person getting my info and saying they'll call me back, and one saying sorry, no can do. Forward, march!
oh, the quote was for $408... comprehensive, 500 deductible, with 10k medical and collision

i have state farm too... dont have collision tho and its 155 per year. i have an older bike so it's not really worth it considering how much i paid for the bike.

above was from gorman, btw
heres one from a-affordable
500 deductible, collision, comprehensive, $702
I'm basically getting max quotes
i have a question- my bike insurance doesnt have a medical quote on it since i assumed medical insurance covered any issues relating to that. what exactly does the 10k medical coverage that you mentioned before relate to? Should i ask for medical coverage on my bike insurance too (wondering if others have this...)?

No, I'm almost positive they overlap; if you have health insurance you don't need medical on your bike insurance.
by the way, how do you have state farm? I went to the state farm website to try and find someone to call but when I tried to find an agent it said "we do not actively market in massachusetts" or something like that...
im in atlanta right now but once i get back i can get you the number (i get back tomorrow night). i hope im not confusing the names, lol... where in MA are you?

Yowza, mabye I'm getting heavily screwed on mine - well over 1k/year here
Clean but short history - my history from the UK did not transfer at all
shit, i dunno how much liability was on either of the two quotes i got. I'm in newton.
Another quote, from lister ins. 250k liability, 1k deductible on comp and collision, no medical. $501
350/year through Plymouth Rock for my 06 SV. 250k coverage, yada yada. Progressive quoted me SLIGHTLY less (they just started serving MA)
I just called Progressive and was told they don't offer MC insurance in MA yet...

Yeah, I looked at their website and got the same result as I got at state farms. "sorry, we don't offer service to your area."

I know Lister insurance is very bike friendly. Betsy is one of the MMA people.
I have AAA/Commerce and its about $550 a year for 04 636, I'm thinking I can find cheaper from what others are posting (I have a good driving record)
just transfered over to the new R6 a couple weeks ago and it's $177 per year (it was $158 for the F3). I'm going to call today to add collision and see how much it goes up by.
I got quoted $265 for the same coverage by AAA for the R6.
