I have Progressive for my SV650, and Geico for my Ford Focus.
Right now I pay $900 for the bike and $1100 for the car.
Progressive said I could get a 5% discount on the bike policy if I switch the car over...
So I called them and they quoted me $2400/yr for the car! And I have lojack and everything on the car. Friggin ridiculous! When I was 20 and driving a V8 Mustang and living in Boston I didn't pay that much!
I can understand the weirdness with bike insurance but this is just whacked that once company would cost double what another one would for a cheap car.
I hope in 2 months progressive doesn't send me a letter saying my bike insurance has been raised to $2000/yr or something. I think I will have to sell it if I can't continue to get a rate under $1000 for it.

dude that's MAD 'MOUNTS O' LOOT!!!!!!! You ride wheelies all day long or something?!?! Those signs on the side of the road are route numbers not always speed limits.
I live within 5 miles of downtown boston and year round coverage for my '96 is under $400?! I know its not as new a bike, but man o man. Good luck with that one dude!

I'm license in Maine. I don't represent as many companies but I can still be competitive. More than welcome to call, if I can do something to help ya out I'd be more than happy to. PS- I DON'T work on commission, so you won't get a high-pressure sales pitch from me.

I would love to be paying those rates. Right now I'm paying $3K a year for my 00 Eclipse. As for my bike I belive its around $1K a year. Mass insurance laws suck ass. And to all of you wth sub 1K a year insurance,.
Check out my bad self... $359 a year for the 2001 Daytona 955i.

It's $359 cause that's the ACV... Actual Cash Value of a 2001 Daytona. The company could replace your bike for the amount you pay in premium each year, bwaa ha.
