Is it worth it.... not sure how to decide..... would just insure it as a regular bike less some of the damage to others/property stuff at minimums...

"i'm sorry sir you can't put on those new rear sets till we have a claims adjuster look at your bike. he'll be there in 3.5 hours."
Just to ride my bike on the road the insurance company wanted 2600/year. With a $1000 deductible. This all on a bike I paid 5k for. 3 years later I'm using the money I saved to buy another bike. I'm a huge fan of the min. required to put a plate on it. Maybe ramp up the liability if you Dont want to worry about being sued for causing an accident. Will they even insure a track bike?
you can get insurance for a track only bike, all i'd suggest is theft/fire/whatever.... it wouldn't be worth insuring it to cover any potential crash damage.
"pookie" here said it only cost him like $100/yr if i remember right
again, this is not insuring a track bike....its insuring a bike that I will only use on the track. I will register it, get a plate and insure it as a regular bike, but I don't ride it on the street.....
I think I am going to do that its about 200 buck for basic coverage plus theft BUT no collision. Then the week before the track trips add collision, then remove it after the track days. its a pain in the ass, but the bike is a 749R so if I trash it its a big payout.
thoughts?

If you are only using it on the track, why are you bothering to pay the $$ to register and plate it? ...Unless when you crash it at the track you are going to report it as a street crash. You might forget to mention the track piece when you insure it...of course, not that I am suggesting that you engage in insurance fraud.

Uh........why would you register a bike and put plates on it if you aren't going to use it on the street? You certainly don't need to do that for trackdays - heck, we'd ask you to remove them before we even let you on the track.
Are you registering it to get the insurance in the first place? Otherwise, I can't see why you'd register it at all.
As far as insuring trackbikes go, I only know of one company who does it effectively, that is, insuring bikes used for track purposes - but uinlike as Ryan stated above, it'd be quite qbit more than $100

registering it bc you need to if you want to insure..also, I want a ma title so its pretty easy to do.
my ins company will pay out on a private propert accident like a track school...there is no fraud..I'm straight as an arrow DON'T even suggest otherwise. anyone who knows me knows that.
