    Jacket Help

I'm still looking for a textile, 3/4 length adventure type jacket. I like the Revit stuff, but that's quite a bit more than I want to spend.

Does anyone have experience with First Gear stuff? Good, or cheap?

    Paul,

I love my Cortech Advanced 3/4. Heavy, built well, vents well and is warm.

You can try it out anytime, we're the same size.

I bought a Dainese 3/4 length... Belfast I think it was called?
Absolutely fantastic. Bone dry in the heaviest downpours. Daily commutes in 25 degree temps without heated gear. Fall and spring commutes in the unexpected heat without breaking a sweat. It's Dainese, so it pricey, but I love the thing. I'd offer you a great deal since I sold all the streetbikes, but it's too big.

saw some Firstgear stuff in the clearance section of newenough... cheap enough that it'd probably be worth trying if they have your size. Check it out, see if they have anything you like.

I've got a Teknic Freeway jacket.... I like it a lot but it doesn't quite fit me the way I'd like.

Second Wind in NH had some Rev'It Devil 3/4 textile's on sale for really cheap. I want to say they were @ $150 or something. They were a couple year old model but it's an awesome jacket. Waterproof, liner, the works. Give them a call and see if they have any left. I was thinking of grabbing one.

    Re: Jacket Help

If you fit any of the sizes they have left, New Enough has the Teknic Stinger for $79. It's not a high-end jacket--I've got one, and my girlfriend has a Rev'it textile jacket, and the fit and finish differences are pretty obvious--but it is at least moderately waterproof (I've ridde in conditions that I thought might test it without trouble) and has CE-approved armor.

Teknic, of course, is good at hitting a pricepoint, so I wouldn't expect the jacket to last as long as the higher-end stuff does.

Thanks guys, after looking around I pulled the trigger on the first gear ranier from new enough. Best price on that by far.

That's what I have. Cortech, I think, is top shelf for a bargain price.
This one is the model after the Advanced and it looks like an improvement
on an already nice jacket. If I were buying one now I'd go for the hi viz

That's my second choice... if the one I ordered doesn't seem top notch, I'll get this one.
