I'm selling my jacket with my bike, so I'm in the market for a new one.
This is what I've been using for 1.5 years: http://www.kneedraggers.com/product/...Textile-Jacket
I like the textile with the removable liner. Stays relatively cool on hot days, and I can easily put the liner in for the colder ones. It's also fairly light.
So any good jackets out there I should look into? Trying to narrow down the selection.
I'd like to keep the price around the $200 range. This will be purely for street use.
Thanks,
-Ian-
EDIT: also looking for gloves, short style, not gauntlet

Plus it's hemp, ahem.

not quite as narrowed down as i was looking for, but i'll flip through it. thanks
haha my "hemp" days have long since passed. looks a lot heavier/hotter than textile. plus i don't care much for that style. i'm a pretty thin guy, so i prefer the more "fitted" style jackets.

Olympia makes some great stuff. I've gotten some good deals on eBay when people sell a new jacket that didn't fit.
The Olympia AirGlide is a good 3-season jacket available in a number of colors, from black to ultra-high-viz. It's not as cool on hot days as an all-mesh jacket like the First Gear Mesh-Tex or Vanson, but is more durable and has better armor. The quilted liner is quite nice. A little over your budget at MSRP $250 but everyone I know who has one loves it.
The matching pants zip up the sides so they're quick on/off.
haha that's a pretty "serious" looking jacket there. maybe it's just the photo :p
being cool (temp wise) is probably the biggest priority for me. i can always add a layer if it gets cold. i will look at some of their stuff and see what i find. thanks

The First Gear Mesh Tex is light, cool, and $140 at many dealers. It has a nylon liner, not quilted, and minimal back armor.
The Vanson Vent Max 4 has really open mesh to flow a lot of air. $180.

Brockton cycle has their own line of cheap jackets. Worth a look anyway.

I have the first gear tex mesh.. I like it a lot.. actually if you like it, pm me.. I have a red one in size large that is a bit big on me.. I ordered it thinking medium was too small... still I wore it anyways since it turned cool enough for me to wear leather.
if you are saying you want to sell it, thanks but i wear a medium at most. i'm only 5'9", 135 lbs...

Haha well, yeah large is waaay to big thenBut I still do like the jacket. It's full mesh, not like some of the other joe rocket textile etc which are simply textile with only mesh near the arms. Those ones are still way too hot to wear in this 90+ weather. I didn't even like wearing this mesh one the few times I went out last summer when it was this hot.
