So it's time for the stock exhaust to come off of my '07 1000rr.
I've done a little bit of research and was thinking about grabbing a Jardine RT-One dual outlet titanium.
Just looking for a slip-on at this point. (And Yes I am more interested in just sound / looks. HP, Weight, Durability, etc. are all considered).
I'm mostly on the street with one or two track days sprinkled in during the season.
Questions: Anybody have any thoughts / suggestions / reviews on Jardine?
I'll be getting a new air-filter as well, but is the PCIII necessary at this point?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The same thing everyone said over on .net (creepy, i know). Go with something from Arrow, Akra, or Arata.
There is a few used Arrow slips floating around for less than a new Jardine. But if you do wanna save a few bucks, I have the Jardine Dual Outlet CF, and its nice enough. Very loud though, and doesnt give much, if any HP gain.
Also, the can mounting strap is cumbersome, and cheap.

The Jardine had an issue when outlets were too short, and melted the CF surrounding them, most of the new ones dont have that issue now. They do have an issue with the mid pipe coming into contact with the rear brake reservoir, which is annoying but not a big deal.
I'm going to rock the Jardine for a while until I can afford a full Arata. The jardine is a good "starter" pipe if all your looking for is a decent aesthetics, some sound, and to get rid of stock. Above that, its nothing special.
Grab that Arrow if its still available man, great pipe!

i have jardine but it's side mount so no comment. why is arrow a great pipe?
"fuckit!"
Great HP gains, impeccable construction, fit and finish. Lightweight, and good tone, but not too loud.

I've a RT-One CF on my 636, nice sound, not much HP gain. haven't had any issues.
If you really want to gain HP, you will need to get the whole system not just slip-on. But, I doubt you really can access those HP if you are only using it for street. Its more for looks and sound really.

SATO Racing makes the best exhaust systems for litre Hondas, IMO. However, you get what you pay for. Very $$$

My 600rr had an RT-1 when I bought it. I put the stock back on for the time being. I found the Jardine to be screechy - didn't care for the sound at all (but I'm old!!).
I wish Sato still made their exhaust for the Blade. Some guys were talking about 11 HP gains with PCIII, a Sato slip on and BMC filters!!
The used can I was referring to was on 1000rr.net, but it was just sold a few days ago. They are out there though.

Annoying? Not a big deal? that's a potential fire ball and brake fluid all over the place. Reservoirs are mostly plastic, maybe you meant the master.
As for exhausts, I'm a bit of an M4 fan. One of the very few companies that make a slip on with Ti mid-pipes. Ti Force is nice to.

Ti Force makes a dual slip for it as well, one can under tail and one can mounted on the right...not bad lookin. I'd be afraid of seeing the price tag though

I meant the reservoir. The pipe doesn't make direct contact with reservoir but the mounting bracket itself which i is large enough that the mid pipe doesn't transfer enough heat over to the reservoir to melt it. Ive ridden 2000 miles like this, and have not had any issues (not to say that I wont, or this is the right way to do it)
The quick, easy fix is to get a $15 Brembo rear reservoir, or the more expensive G-Craft piece which mounts right to the master, and eliminates the worry.
As far as M4, I have no direct experience with them, and from what I hear they are great for the Zuks. I have not heard great information about them as far as the blades go though.

I ride with a few people that have M4's on their F4i's and they seem to like them. They are more of the squidly type and I think were really only going to looks / sound.

I suppose if I'm only purchasing a slip-on I shouldnt be looking for big HP gains and huge weight loss...I def dont have the money for a full system / PCIII and all the goodies yet...

I had an M4 on my gixxer 750 and now have another on my 1k. With the 07 1k you got the power increase and 18 pounds of weight lost due to stock duals and the cat box. Heavy crap. I think people were getting 6-10hp with just a slip on with that bike. Personally I have a problem bolting stainless to titanium. The bike has a Ti header stock, what the hell do I want a stainless midpipe for? So, it was M4 or racefit and racefit @ 130 dBa....no thanks. M4 with a 12" carbon can it was. I didn't notice any power increase, but I also had the slip on a few weeks before I even had the bike. Rode it home, changed oil and put the slip on....on. So I hadn't had it over 7000 yet.
M4 use to show dyno charts and the gains they got over stock, with no EFI tuning were pretty impressive.
Yoshimura makes some good exhausts too, the Japan exhausts not the USA exhausts. Pain to find that stuff tho
