And its in SORRY shape. The motor was frozen, headlight, screen, clutch and brake master cyls are missing. Guess I should have looked it over better when I agreed to do it![]()
The good news is the motor freed off with a little diesel down the cylinders. A little light relief was my wife was watching me try and crack the motor off and as it went a fountain of diesel shot from one of the plug holes and covered her![]()
So I hooked it up to a battery (the Kat not Heather) and dribbled a little gas into the carbs and it played little tunes as I cranked it, so a good carb cleaning and it should be set to run. They do need a good clean as they are BAD.
So heres some pics of the dinosaur. The pics do not do the full horribleness of this one justice.

Ya me too...much worse. RGVER I saw the miracle you pulled off with the Honda you did that one justice,... you can do the same with this one.

at least thoe paint on the body works looks ok.
I pulled the calipers off last night fearing the worst as the bike wa sat outside with no clutch or brake masters on it. I was relieved when I saw a dribble of brake fluid run out of the bottom of the hose. Thankfully the pistons were free and were managed to be saved and cleaned up. I put on a master cyl from the 900 Ninja I have in the garage. Now have brakes and almost a clutch as this is being a PIA to bleed but its getting there.
I've had the motor running but it needs a few parts replacing in the carbs so its a little rough.
Won a screen and a headlight on eBay, so The carb parts, petcock and fuel level sender and its almost there.
Sounds good. I wish I know how to work on carbs.
