I used to ride a cruiser as well. It was a little less extreme than a big dog (VTX 13C). I did have a guy that we used to camp with that had a big dog. Thing leaked oil like mad. He didn't ride it very much because the oil leak made it messy and because it was so shiny he always wanted it clean.

Just something to be aware of. This was probably something like 5 years ago, but they are still using the same hardware provider.

A friend of mine has a Big Dog, and he let me take it for a spin last summer. It took a while to learn how to steer damn thing, but holy shit what a fun motor. Cruising down the highway it was in it's element. It draws crowds and comments about what a nice looking bike it is about 100x more than any bike I've ever owned. It's not my cup of tea (or pint of beer), but I understand why people like them.

I think of expensive choppers like that as similar to Disney World. May be good for a thrill or two, but by in large it appeals to the lowest common denominator in our society and is a great way to blow a lot of money on something just to have other people gawk at you.

Apparently you've never ridden a chopper.

They don't corner with bar inputs, you can only steer them with bad-boy attitude. Angry-at-the-world scowl to turn right, condescending scorn for a left. That's why you can't wear a full face lid on a chopper, it masks the facial expressions necessary to change direction. One last point about riding a chopper - if you smile the front wheel locks up and you'll go right over the bars, then you'll have to lay 'er down.
