It's grey and black. I know of a used yellow one I'm looking at tomorrow. Cheapest used one in the country too.
I'm sure we could do a package deal on the two new ones.
Thanks for scouring New England for deals and dealers. So far, we know where not to go. Seems that many bike dealers have adopted the worst practices of car dealers.
I've bought six bikes from Seacoast Sport Cycle (herinafter referred to as "SSC") since 2007. Best dealer experience around IME. There was a glitch for a while when they had a bike "salesman" who could usually be found on the phone, feet on the desk, or in the business office chatting up the new office manager. Looks like Jim took care of that a few years ago and sells the bikes himself now.
And don't believe everything you think.
Yep, Seacoast is the best
Look at this - great deal

Honestly, aren't all powersports dealers like this?
Seems most dealers work harder at losing the sale then they care about making it.
2012 Tiger 800 XC
Just took it out for a spin in 19f weather. Absolutely great bike for me. I didn't love the blue as much in person but it's still better than the black and grey one they have. Giving myself a day to digest the purchase before I make it though.
Jim was absolutely ace to deal with. Took up about 2 hours of his day going over every detail. I'm still not crazy about being tied to a dealer with it for life but at least it's a good dealer.
Ps, he often hears about the other Seacoast being confused with his. An unfortunate part of the business.
Hopefully this deal gets completed at the agreed upon terms.
And maybe the service light will burn out
just want to say the service dept is really good, just got off the phone with them, they did 2 service bulletin repairs I had no idea about and threw in a little extra maint work beyond what I asked for free. Don't currently have a vehicle with a trailer hitch, trying to figure out which day I can borrow a truck and get up to pick up the Duke, said they'd delivery it for free if I was flexible on the day.
Not saying it makes up for keeping $3,000 of a MFGF rebate, but if you need any work done the service dept. is professional / quality.
Yeah, the rebate thing was crazy. I dont understand why they would do that. He completely ignored the page manufacturers page when i showed him. He didnt come out and say he was keeping the extra money but he did say they would only give me $1250 off. I probably would have bought his if he had given the full rebate. He had the same bikes and is much closer than the others so it would have made sense. And the bike is now two years old as leftover with the newer version being far superior. Its going to be a tough sell and they need the floor space. They are keeping bikes across the street cause they cant fit them.
I understand most salesmen but i dont understand him.
The service light is still my main gripe. No matter what i need to do the first service because they raise the rev limiter. The others i dont need to have reset but the light will always be on. If it wasnt for that i absolutely would have bought either the new one or the used one i saw today. The choice between those is something I need to decide tonight.

For the sake of throwing a wrench into your shit…
What about a well-modified Honda 919 for ~1/3 of the price of that V85?
PM me if interested and I’ll give you my cell
The ever temptation of the 919. I loved mine dearly and regret selling it but this for this bike purchase I need something specific. I need something that can get down fire lanes and muddy roads on occasion and with ease.
Do you care about ABS?
Nault's seems very competitive in pricing
https://www.naults.com/search/inventory/query/klr $4500 for a new KLR is excellent
Except they aren't $4500 and I don't even know if those ones exist. Those ones are scratch and dent ones that literally fell off the truck when they were unloading, at least that's what they told me. But they won't say what's wrong with them and they also say they are stuffed downstairs and they can't get to them right away so can't show me what's wrong with them right now. I have asked about two specific ones and one of them the sales guy just disappeared and the second one I never heard back from them. Naults had already got me once anyway, I shouldn't have even tried to follow up on those ones.
Ps, naults doc and prep fees for it are almost $1700. For reference Seacoast power sports is charging $800 for a bike 3x as expensive.
That's disappointing to hear from Nault's. I had a good experience purchasing a bike for my wife many years ago. Seacoast Sports (Ducati/Aprilia/MV) charges $800 for everything (freight, prep, dealer fees, whatever) which I find is more the exception to the other mainstream dealers. I remember looking at a left over 2022 KTM 390 ADV in April of 2023 before I got the Aprilia Tuareg and it was $4999--->$62xx at the Tyngsboro dealer. The Aprilia won me over and the experience with Jim was as good as it could be. I'm short with no off-road experience, so at 5'7" was worried about the height and was ready to buy a low seat. He told me that he will set the sag for me, move the forks up and discouraged me from buying the low seat right away. He said it was lower but spreads your legs more and the net lowering is probably not as much as advertised (he was right!). I appreciate his honesty.
Good to hear abut your good experience at Seacoast Sport Cycle with Jim.
I'm curious about what you said re. the Guzzi -- " No matter what i need to do the first service because they raise the rev limiter."
Maybe this is something new to the model? Was not the case on my 2020 V85TT or my 2023 V7 850. I had neither serviced at a dealer, always did my own. There are dash warning lights for shift points that can be re-set with the dash menu on mine.
And don't believe everything you think.
It is the third bike I have purchased from Jim and that experience has been consistent - not an anomaly. He has been the best salesperson I have every had.
Same with my Aprilia Tuareg - up to 600 miles the shift/red line is set at 6k rpm, but that is something you can change yourself in the settings. I still brought my bike to Seacoast Sports Cycle for service at 600 miles and installed a quick shifter at the time. The next big service is at 12k. The Tuareg is a terrific bike - I think the best compromise in terms of ADV bikes with great road manners and great off road manners. Unfortunately, I rarely go on ADV rides because of family and work obligations so that is a different story... :-(
Someone I know from the NEST FB group rode his Taureg from MA to MT (and back!) last summer without a hitch or glitch, said it was a great ride.
Some of the Aprilias are tempting, but I'm sticking with Guzzi for now, especially with the easy DIY service on the pushrod motor. When I bought the V7 last year from A-J Cycle, Allen told me that they never see many of their customers after the initial sale. Good for the customer, not so good for a dealer. I stop in there to buy oil filters and such.
And don't believe everything you think.
The forums say the first v85tt service raises the shift light and red line. There is a bit of a discussion on it when it comes up though. Some say it does, some say it doesn't. Makes sense to me that it happens since peak power is at 7200 but out of the box redline shows 6900. Idk. I forgot to ask seacoast that detail but did ask if the bike gets actually real life use updates from guzzi still and they said yes so I'm destined to get at least a few updates along the way
Most of the newer bikes I've ridden have a "soft" redline for the break-in period, i.e. shift light (and recommendation for maximum RPM's during break-in) comes on early but the bike still revs up to actual redline. Then after the first service they increase the shift light RPM to it's normal value.
And FWIW the discussion about the maximum speed of a CRF250/300L, my experience when I was 225lbs was that a 2017 CRF250L Rally was barely able to maintain 75mph on flat ground. Once you hit a hill though, speed quickly decreases to ~60-65mph, depending on grade. It can do higher speeds, but it struggles at grade. I've seen videos of the CRF300L and it looks better, it maintained ~85mph on the interstate, although I'm sure it's still dependent on grade and rider weight. That said, I'd never buy a CRFxxxL if I was doing a lot of high speed riding; it's at it's best plodding along at offroad speeds and up to 40mph.

The shift lights are incredibly intrusive. I dont think they can be disabled either which is a bummer. I guess at 90mph they come on and stay on until you slow down.
I noticed someone on Reddit said you can turn the service indicator off yourself with this tool and the approriate cable:

Yeah, i have seen that pop up too. On the guzzi forums they say it doesnt work on the e5 v85 to reset the light, only to change tunes. The v7 and e4 it can reset the light. IDK. i gotta find a guzzi friend. There is a guy in ct with one i am trying to connect with.
Decision has been made. Stay tuned for the results.
For those of you interested in joining the guzzi club he has one more at the same price and spec as the one i just bought.

And for those looking for one with more options but used take a look here:

Joe was really great to deal with but ultimately i went with the new one from seacoast sport cycle, mostly for the blue color. The yellow was sharp though but blue is better. Joe has an amazing selection of ducati's and aprilia's for sale along with other brands. Even spotted an MV amongst them. If i was in the market for one of those he would be my first stop.
