I agree.
You didn't even try to find out where she went. If she had crashed you would have left her in a ditch? It's common sense to look for a missing rider as well as telling the rest of a group if you are leaving to go home.

Exactly, Jim.... Live & learn. She handled it with Jim's help. Same thing coulda happened if she were riding by herself. Don't gotta ostracize the kids....... But ridng in groups, we should all expect a certain level of added ''safety''.
She did handle it best. She reached out to someone that was available to help her. This time it was something easy. Two or more riders, communication is the best. A Hand signal, prior verbal instructions.

Thank christ. First i'm publicly nice to Jim on this forum I actually like Jim in person for real, it's just not how we roll here and then Jim comes back getting all serious and politically correct standing up for these kids... a little levity was needed! Thanks DB.

The riders involved in the group ride that left her behind are just young and inexperienced. i cant say anything against them honestly. i've met them all twice now & i dont think they would have intentionally left someone behind like that.
I can see how some newer riders are more focused on the road and what's in front of them. Lesson learned: always check behind you after street lights, stop signs, and corners when riding in a group ride.
:)
Jim i know 2 of them and I was shocked at least one not making a phone call.
Both of them have been on numorous group rides already and should know better.
I think it was more immaturity than inexpreience. I also heard they were pooping wheelies in downtown Boston too and just overall acting like tool boxs trying to impress the chicks.
Maybe when they become Men they will realize that chicks like intelegence and confidence not kid's who can pop wheelies.

Sad, you should have re-road the entire route, and called her until she picked up before moving on. If she bailed on the ride and went elsewhere, then it's on her, but you need to do your due diligence first man.

:plusone: I mean common sense goes a long ways, you can cut them slack for being young, but it's really not an excuse.

Part of riding in a group is constantly checking your mirrors. The minute the person behind you isn't there, you stop. If the person in front of you does the same thing, eventually you'll all be stopped.
If I were her, I'd have found you ass clowns and kicked you all in the ding-dings. "Oops we thought you got on the highway." That's a bunch of bullshit.
