Laid up for the rest of the riding season...

Last Friday morning I had an operation on my left foot which has possibly put a premature halt to my riding season.

The procedure was to shorten the bone just behind the big toe which creates a very painful thing called a Metatarsal Phalangial Enlargement... a Bunion...
What actually takes place is that bone is "Vee'd" out and put back to the proper length and pinned.

I have to be off the foot for a solid week, iced and elevated. Then we move on to the first post-op check and I will be advised how I can proceed and when I can start load baring that foot. Crutches for now, that sucks...
I'll be out of work for six + weeks...

So, when I can get back on both feet I envision having a tender lefty to deal with, probably do not want to try and hold a motorcycle up let alone shift it... ! !

Enter the Hack...

As soon as I am cleared by the Doc to use a heel & toe shifter, I'll finish out the year on the Hack... Really kinda cool as I obviously will not need to put a foot down and I will be able to be on the Guzzi...

Bundle up, Winter's comin'...

Speakng of that, I don't see skiing this year either...

I feel your pain, bro... but just be glad it's towards the end of the season instead of the beginning. I was outta comission for about 3-4 months from April - July/August. Talk about frustration!

At least ya got that sweet MG & sidecar to tool around on, that looks like a pretty sweet rig

Yeah, I planned for this time of year... Last of the riding, m-a-y-b-e get to ski... we'll see.

That much down time must have really killed you... Man...

I've been off the two wheels for a week and I'm watching Dust to Glory and Long Way Round and On Any Sunday already... ! !

The Hack is a riot, good beer truck too...
