Fucking bunch of cuntfaced pole smokers.....
They are telling me that all of the aftermarket parts on my totaled bike are worth 5 FUCKIN' percent of their cost new.......... They can eat my ass before they get even one fuckin' non-stock part out of me.... fuckin' cock-sucking bastard prick peckerheads.....
Carrozzeria wheels($1640) + full Akro($800.) + full ceramic coating of said Akro($200.)=$2640. Dairyland says that increases the value of my bike by $132.Fuck them.....

Typically Insurance companies will take the MSRP and subtract 10% for depreciation or at least thats what they did for all my aftermarket on my SV>
2006 Ducati Monster S2R800
thats why i pulled my fancy parts off my f4i after a tractor trailer drove over it while it was parked in a lot.
the insurance company threatened to get the police involved so i had to cough them up. never again! i'll find a lawyer.
pole-smokers is right.

did you get the value reassesed when you installed all those parts and update your policy? they may say that you are insured for a stock bike...
either way it took me 6 mos. to settle with my ins. company after my wreck. It is a game they play...they try to wear you out...don't give in....remember this phrase..."that's totally unacceptable".
You are going to have to do all your own homework and barter with them....it will be very painful and don't expect them to help you at all....or return phone calls
I insisted on getting full retail value plus sales tax on my Z then bought the bike back from them for very cheap. I did not worry about the parts because i saw that as a deadend. SO i harped on the condition of my bike and sent them a ton of comps i have found, like i said...it took me six months and escalating the claim to the regional manager but i got what i was looking for in then end.
Insurance is a scammer's business or they wouldn't be in the business.
Their job is minimize their loss and maximize your payments.
You will have to fight them tooth and nail for the other stuff.
Just don't take their first offer as the final word.
Health insurance is the same... its all just a mathematical formula
to them.
2008 Honda CBR 600RR
That blows Snake...keep at it though.
My friend that crashed the same day you did, he uses Statefarm, as do I. He had a good selection of after market goodies on the bike and luckily it went down on the left side so the Racefit Growler was untouched. They told him that he could remove whatever aftermarket parts he wanted.
He and I went to the salvage yard where the bike is, removed parts and we didn't have to put the OEM junk back on, just had to leave it with the bike. Stock mid-pipe and canister leaning up against the wall near it and we were done in 20 mins.
Like the others said though, keep at it. Tell them you even want reimbursement for the turkey sammich some hooligan looted from your tank bag.
So how much $ have you sent them over the years, which they gladly took...now that you need them to help you out, you get shafted. Sad really.
Stupid insurance companies, legally scamming people since day 1.

In addition to the phrase "thats totally unacceptable" the other magic phrase is "I'll need to speak to your Manager, put them on the phone". When they ask you why or stall tell them that you realize what they are doing, you're not happy with it, and you realize that yelling at them is useless. BUT, ripping into their manager about their behavior will produce the results you're looking for. If they keep stalling, say goodbye (politeness counts), hang up the phone, and call back. Explain to the person that answers the phone you were just talking to (so and so) - Could you please be connected to their manager/supervisor?
If the phone calls don't work - face to face comes in handy sometimes. I got the best results from Allstate when I showed up at their office (unannounced) with all my paperwork in order and calmly tied up the represenative for three hours while we painstaikingly went over every single one of them some of them 2 or 3 times...

That sucks they're trying that on you. Nature of the business thoug. Just keep your cool whenever you talk to them, no matter how much red you're seeing. Treat it like a business deal, because that's exactly what it is. Limit the emotional involvement and you'll be better off for it in the end.

Do remember this is a negotiation...at all times until you've signed, or said "ok" because then they have won.
Keep at it and good luck with the fukkers.
huh, I've never had to make a claim on my bike but they did ask what I had for aftermarket and the value. Dunno. I have always had prompt and polite service otherwise though.
typcially aftermarket parts are not covered, unless you have specific coverage for aftermarket parts. Your insurance policy and also quote is generated on the MSRP over your vehicle and also replacement value of the stock vehicle.
A Progressive insurance policy includes $1000 for aftermarket parts for example.

Don't know if it will help but I have them too. I could call and bring up what is going on with you as a 'concern that is leading myself and several others to consider dropping' might at least put the bug in someones ear. They are a small company.
Or you could just assume this is a moot point in a 1 1/2 year old post.![]()
