as some of you know, im looking for a new bike. this is not a 'want to buy' in the wrong section im just wondeering where else to look for a used bike other than craigslist and the classifieds here? willig to go anywhere within about 6-8hours of boston
Dealerships? Is that to broad of an answer?
im not looking to spend a ton of money and it seems to me that all the dealerships around here get a premium for used bikes
It really does sound like you need a Wanted ad here and/or Craigslist.
Might help to talk about what you want in a bike? Don't care? Sport, touring, cruiser? And you on a real thin budget, I guess less than $1k? It really seems to me like CL is the place for used bikes on a budget.

i have one up on the classifieds here, i just havent had much luck with craigslist in the past. budget is like 3500, sport bike, 600cc.
Okay- so knowing this go into every ad that interests you with a sport bike that is 600cc that is listed for OVER $3500. Look around the 4k range. Then you offer the person the $3500 you have. If they take it- then go look at it- if they dont then move onto the next one.
$3500 budget and a desire for a 600cc sport, I don't get what the problem is with CL. Are you not finding anything, are you finding the people are the problem, or that the bikes in that range have too much wrong?

the people and the bikes are the issue. everything has a ''SUPER KUSTOM CHROME SWINGARM" and some stupid ass paint job or they dont post a number and never reply to emails.

I use CL a lot. I've had some luck on there. Bought and sold several cars and bought 2 bikes and sold one on there as well. Always find good deals. You need to keep looking though. When I need something, I am on there 24/7. It's summer time so deals on bikes are less and go fast.
dealership is actually a good place to check, they may know of used bike that they didn't/wouldn't take on trade
thats how I found a bike for my now ex a few years ago, they told me about another customer that had an older CM250, I contacted him and bought it for $300
besides CL, check Uncle Henry's and scan bulletin boards in laundrymats etc. Or just drive around looking for bikes with FS signs on them
