Got off work a bit early yesterday so went for a rip.
Rt#5 North from Springfield VT. is always a hoot and it goes by the Aprilia dealership but he was closed.
On the way back I hopped onto the interstate.
At speeds above 75 the wind gets to be a bit much.
I scooch back a bit on the seat and lean onto my left arm placd across the tank. This allows me to tuck just a snap and not look to "geeky" as I make my way home.
Last night it seemed as if the bike was pulling left a bit.
Maybe it was the lane I was in?
Body position may be playing a part in this?
Maybe my Arai is warped?
My tire weights are still in place.
It just felt like I had to "pull" on the right bar end a bit more than usual
to keep her where I wanted within the lane.
Sounds like an aerodynamic drag thing to me, as you suspect. That said, are the tires wearing funny? Is the rear axle aligned on the same marks left and right? Any recent changes to the rear suspension preload?
Tires look normal with few signs of any wear. The front is not cupped.
Alignment marks out back are evenly matched. I'll check them again this evening to be sure. Rear suspension has not been adjusted.
I think it may be aerodynamic in nature with one arm under my chest resting on the tank.
^^ Yes.
It was minimal and seemed a bit more pronounced last night.
It may have been the road or the "thick" air.
Not a big issue all told.
I ride with my arm crossed on top of the tank. I definitely pull left on my 1098, but not on my Super Sport. Definitely an aero thing. It is more pronounced when I am in clean dead air rather than in traffic.
