    Looking for some input.

So I'm back here on the forum after a few months of not visiting.

As some of you helped me with my post last summer, my bike had crapped out on me. Taiden was very nice to come help me look at it and see what we could do. I ended up never getting it fixed and brought it back to me.

This weekend I had a friend come over and attempt the bike again. We got everything reconnected but the bike still isn't catching it seems.

So it got me looking into things. My bank (DCU) would only change me 30 ish per every 1k borrowed per month.

I was looking into some 08, 09 ninja 250r and it looks like it would cost me around 3k for them, making my payment around 100 per month.

My question would be how much do you think I would be able to sell a non working 2004 ninja 250. The tires only have about 800 miles on them and I just put a new battery in. I'm not sure on the other maintenance items as the old owner didn't have records.

I'd like to try to pick up a bike as soon as I can to get starting again. Last summer was my first with my license and I was only able to put in around 100 miles.

So again after my rambling, I'm looking for some thoughts on how much you think I would be able to sell a non working 2004 250r, just under 12k miles.

You can most likely fix it cheaper than buying a new one. Bring it to someone that knows something about em, Both Rolker and Kbroderick on this forum have Ninja 250's

I can suggest a guy down in MA to fix it for you. He fixed my wife's '01 Ninja 250 after it had been sitting for a couple years. I couldn't get it to run for the life of me. I think he got it running within 24 hours. If you want his info, let me know.

I would appreciate that. If I can get it running again I may keep it but after working on it this summer and this past weekend I realized I don't like carbs.

Jack owns the business Twisted Spoke in Charlton, MA. He's the one that worked on my wife's bike. Keep in mind that he fixed her bike before he opened up the shop, so he was able to work on it personally and not have a bunch of other bikes at the time as well.

If you want, you can tell him that you were referred to him by Frank Welch's son-in-law and that he fix our 250, And he may remember me. We've also gone out on a ride with him back in October one year.

The Twisted Spoke has a website: www.twistedspokeshop.com and the number I have for him is 508.248.1100.

Good luck, and let us all know how you make out.

Thanks I'll take a look into that. I did find a an 08 250 for 2500 so depending on the cost I may still get the 08 then sell my older bike.

    Again thanks for the info.

Keep in mind, you may make more if you fix it then sell it, rather than just sell it. That's what we did. We sold our '01 for around $1700 last summer in running condition..

Ya I guess I didn't convey that, I was going to contact him to see how much it may run to fix it depending on the problem and then sell the bike running.

    Thanks again.
