Camping around Dragon

Anyone have experince camping in southern nc? We will have the van and are open to actual campgrounds as well as primitive sites without services. Mid week late july.

Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forrest has sites right on the lake and it's close to the dragon.

There is another campground a little bit away, but it's a motorcycle campground. The IBMC held there national there one year we where able to host 100 people. They have a kitchen and cook breakfast and dinner if you fill out your menu when you get there. We all had a great time at this campground.

Thanks again, We are looking at that one. Not sure if we want to be at a moto place, or just kinda go woodsy

Stayed at this place for a week. We rented a cabin, but they have campsites. Definitely not roughing it, but close enough to the dragon and all the other roads in the area.


Fontana Lake Camping :: Camping at Fontana Village

We ended up camping at the Simple Life Campground on 129 in robbinsville. Small place, good location. More importantly, what an incredible week! Firs time riding down there and it lives up to the hype.
