Aw damn... That's a bummer man...
Just remember, bikes are replaceable & bones heal. Stick with it, time heals all wounds. You'll be back on two wheels in no time.

Oh...sorry about your baby...You were insured, right? You'll get it replaced...and given the damages on this bike, be thankful you are relatively in good shape yourself...that's all that matters.

Ooof! That bike clearly hit something solid. Glad you didn't!
Don't necessarily listen to the docs who say "let's wait and see how the collarbone heals". Not a single one I know of healed up right without the pin. Get another xray soon and question aggressively about surgical intervention...
Good luck with it all.
That'll buff out with some good wax.
All injuries in the shoulder/neck area suck and have a hard time healing well. I agree with Paul get that checked again even a second opinion. If you wait too long they wont do anything about it. They don't like to re-break a bone to set it right.
You suck at life. Why don't you quit?
My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
Depends on what you mean by "right" I broke my right one into 3 pieces (1 inch chunk out of the middle and twisted the chunk sideways) back in 93. All I got was the brace that makes you walk around like a tough guy (shoulders pulled back)Originally posted by Paul_E_D

Good luck with it all.. Even now I have no pain, limitation, or discomfort. I just have, err, slightly less than perfect symmetry

I know i'm slow, you don't have to rub it in.
Why, Yes! I do think you're a Wanker!
sorry to hear...hopefully you have a fast recovery.
Maybe $850 more than what the insurance company wants me to pay for it. Frame looks good - there's a small ding up front where the snorkel goes into it. The forks also look straight, and I'm sure the motor is fine.Originally posted by SmokennFasTT
glad ur ok.
so how much u want for that rc?

+100000000 for the gear man, glad you had it on, too bad about the bike, you'll heal and be back to normal before you know it. (I broke my collarbone in 98' and rode with the brace on!)
wow looking at that bike you came out on the good end I think with just the few injuries you have.
+12908347234723 on gear I always wear mine. It actually makes the ride much easier on me and I dont get sore as fast. I suspect after this one youll continue to wear it all the time as well.
If youre going to attempt to rebuild let me know Ill lend a hand.
Glad your going to be OK...
It was only an SP1 anyways....LOL!
Wow you made it out of what looks like a very bad accident in pretty good shape.. Rest up and you'll be back in no time.

The police told me that a driver's education instructor says I passed them. Then less than a minute later they came upon my wreck. Imagine being the student driver? Heh.
I'm guessing the driver's ed car was going VERY slow, and I passed it the first chance I got. It probably pissed me off, so I decided to drag knee the next section of turns, and then nearly killed myself. D'oh. I'm an idiot.
Anyways, I got a $100 ticket for passing on a double yellow, and a warning for speeding. Sounds like I deserve it. Oh well...
Still don't remember any of this... so things could have gone down differently.

Yep - sorry I haven't replied. I've been dealing with insurance.Originally posted by SmokennFasTT
cialowicz, did you get my PM??
They claim I can't buy it back from them, which is very strange since I bought my last car back from them which still had a lein out on it.
Anyways, I won't lie. I just don't feel like dealing with it. I'm getting a lot more from them than what I paid for it, so it's an extra headache for me to try to hold onto it to get an extra small amount of money.
Sorry.
Cheers,
Mike

Breaking your collarbone sucks! I was in an accident back in August and I messed up my collarbone too. This was the first week back at the gym and let me tell ya...it sucks trying to lift. Definitely weaker and it feels like my left side is going to give way. Good luck on the healing process...hopefully you were in decent shape before the crash so that you heal a little faster.

I know it will probably be at least two months before I can lift... but what about running?

So I'm getting $6300 for the bike, with my deductible already take out of that. Then, I assume they'd charge me around $500-750 (maybe more) for the the bike. I'd also have to pay tax on that money. So, if I were able to keep the bike I'd only get around $5500 for it from insurance.
Then I'd sell it for $1650: my $800 cost from insurance + $850 profit. I'd still have to wait at least a month or so to get the salvage title - my bank has to release the title to MA, then MA has to send me a salvage title. No way I'd let someone take it without a title... it'd be a shady deal that way.
And while I'm waiting the wrecked bike sits outside my place staring me down everytime I go outside. No thanks.
