Have I missed something or what. Is there a new helmet law in MA that allow you to not be wearing one? On my way back home today, going on Rte 57 towards Southwick, I saw a sportbike going at least 80MPH in the opposite travel lane, the operator was wearing a helmet, and I think some other gear, but his female passenger was NOT wearing any helmet, her long hair flying with the wind...and no gear whatsoever (shorts, and a spaghetti strap tank top). About 1 minute later, I see another sportbike further in front of me taking an exit again off Rte 57 for Feeding Hills, not wearing a helmet either!
You guys that are saying we might see a lot of deaths this year might be right.![]()

it's a Massachusetts law you have to wear a helmet.... but it's in the Federal constitution that you have the right to be a douchebag.

From the MA DMV site
And remember, Massachusetts has a helmet law. You may be able to drive with your head free and clear in neighboring New Hampshire, but get caught without a helmet in Massachusetts and you face more severe penalties.
Screw the Law...common sense says were one.![]()

I also saw to people ride 2 up neither one wearing helmet. I saw them when we were on our ride yesterday.
He probably just picked up that girl somewhere and didn't have a spare helmet. Doesn't excuse the fact that they were both retarded though.
probably someone from RI up there for a ride and doesnt know there is a law....not that it excuses the passenger because for some reason in RI the pilot doesnt need a helmet but the passenger does
I saw that last weekend also, there must of been at least 3 sportbikes and
1 cruiser that weren't wearing helmets in Mass.
Probably NH riders that don't know where they are ...
If they are stupid enough to ride without a helmet, then they are stupid enough to not know Mass helmet laws.
May Darwin be gentle.
I live on the Blackstone MA / Woonsocket, RI line and see riders from Ri come into MA all the time w/ out helmets on. The shopping plaza on 122 is notorious for the po po sitting there waiting for people like that to come into MA.
i welcome our new overlords in their club clothes and the color matching ho helmet strapped to the side.

Sometimes I ride up to Rendezvous Leathers for the bike night they have on Tuesdays. Its right over teh North Smithfield line into MA. And I see a ton of RI guys sneaking in w/o a helmet for the .5 miles you have to travel to get there. Would be a great place for a cop to hang
Well, I live very close to the NH border and so far I haven't observed any helmetless riders straying over the line. Not that the law matters much anyway... most cruiser riders and even many sportbikers I see are just wearing non-DOT toy beanies or chrome WWII German-style buckets.![]()
Shit, i'd get one of those just to ride around with that one my head while wearing my full leathers![]()
