Came across a accident involving a bike in Woodsville NH on RT 10. No idea on the condition of the rider, there were no EMS people there. On a good note, the hospital was less than half a mile away. Smaller white ford ranger looking pickup with damage to the right side and rear, around the rear tire. I didn't stop so I can't guess what happened. This section is a 35mph zone. Bike actually looked like it was in better shape than the truck...it was an older standard from what I could tell
Then as I am doing 30 through the town I live in, following a car some dumbass waiting at a 4-way (exact same kind of intersection as the earlier crash) decides it's clear behind the car, and pulls out from my left. You know the 2 second rule? I was around 2.5-3 seconds. I went for the white line and was in disbelief over this idiot. I promptly showed my thoughts on his stupidity with the "you're # 1" finger. We couldn't have been much more than 1-2 feet apart, I hope that woke the ass up. I turned around and looked, numb nuts never even touched the brake.
Pay attention at intersections kids. Doing so just prevented a second crash
Homeboy was prolly on his celly, y0!
Oh I didn't get too good a look at the driver. Judging by the glance at the passenger I think they were both older, like 60+ range. That doesn't mean he wasn't 'hittin the cell' tho
Almost Q-tips, eh?
Ha. I think...I was more interested in what the black civic they were in was doing. good thing he/she whomever was driving (probably their dog) didn't have a lead foot.
People don't realize the bikes are out yet.
KB
people start realizing the bikes are out the week before thanksgiving.
trust noone, and ride like there's a bullseye on your back, because there is...
glad to hear you made it out alright.
hurray, strikethrough!
...adventure timeadventure time...adventure time...adventure time
...my impression is that the rider was already gone...

I had a similar incident a couple of days ago. I had a green light, woman on the cross street to my right rolled through her red and made a right turn, cutting me off. I swung wide to the left and laid on the horn, but she just drove on, utterly oblivious. I don't think she even realised my horn was intended for her.
This was not the first time this has happened to me at this same intersection. I need to get one of those Stebel air horns and hopefully scare the shit out of these assholes when they pull this kind of crap.

That's definitely a pucker moment - glad it turned out well
By the time I got there (had no idea it even happened till I saw it) there were a pile of NH state police there and the FD was already redirecting traffic, myself included, out onto side streets around the intersection. I said I didn't stop, I guess I should have been clearer on that part. I didn't pull into a local business off the side streets and join the other onlookers. And after I got back onto route 10 north of the intersection yet another NH statie was heading south to the scene. They say they took him to DHMC, the hospital that was half a mile away was Cottage. I have a feeling they called for the helo to come get him by the sounds of his injuries.
But you fellas are right, if I had stopped to look, or stopped somewhere else, or left the hanger 30 seconds later, etc, I never would have seen the afore mentioned black civic.
Same with last summer...on the way home from a ride and after splitting up, me and a friend heading one way and another heading south back to NH. The friend heading back to NH is in the town he lives in, rounding a left hander at 55 or so and an oncoming explorer loses its left front wheel and hits my friend head on. Same thing there. If we had hung out before departing ways another 30 seconds, he would have come across an explorer missing the wheel. If we departed 30 seconds earlier...he'd have passed it and never knew the wheel blew off.
It's a damned if ya do damned if ya don't kinda thing.
I've never met the Haverhill police chief, hopefully he heals up soon
