marchensis on a motard

i found a 690smr that has marchesinis on it. how sturdy are these? the bike would spend most of its life on pavement but i dont want to be scared to take it on an occasional agricultural excursion. i know laced wheels are pretty sturdy, are cast wheels really no good for "shortcuts"? the idea of a spare set of laced wheels doesnt sound cheap but neither does replacing a marchensi
thoughts?

Personally I would buy a second set of laced wheels to use and sell the Marchesinis or use them when you aren't running offroad.

My duke came with them, although, I don't foresee going off road much with it. The rims probably would handle more than the tires.

I did hit a hard packed road in vt on friday. Didn't go much over 20, though. Watch out for the rear brembos.

dirt roads and stuff you're totally fine but any sort of 'trail' will make you cry from the sound of rocks hitting those $$$ wheels. (had a set on my SXV)

I think smutty is a little gun shy, they are strong, but if you plan on doing endurocross, trade for laced.

I will note, you better have a slipper clutch on the bike if you plan on backing it in on those wheels... my rear sprocket bolts had a bad experience once. At the very least - loctite the $#!+ out of them.

Overall I think marchesinis are too classy for oxx, he should probably sell them, after all they are worth more
