I've been thinking about getting a new bike at the end of this season. The new honda 1000 will be coming out next year so I would think that good deals are to be had on the 954rr. I really like the looks of this bike and have read numerous articles on it. Never ridden one or had a friend who had one so I was just wondering what you guys thought.
In all reality I would like a ~750cc bike but there isn't much to choose from in that catagory. Gix is too uncomfortable and 7R is dated.

IMO....you can't go wrong with this bike. The handling, cornering, breaking, ergo's......Looks......Total package. But~ If you are not the most confident, loose rider, you had best get a damper first thing.![]()
I would wait until next year. The 2004 models should include a NEW R1, ZX-10R, and CBR1000RR. I think these motorcycles will be a big leap forward in technology. The 954 is similar to the 929, a used 929 will give you 95% of the 954 performance at a much lower price. Right now in terms of new liter bikes, the GSXR-1000 looks mighty sweet.

Sorry man but, WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKIN? I looked at one in person and it makes the(sorry Mark and Jay) TL1000R like like a skinny little bitch.
goddamn that bike is ugly![]()
Mighty sweet from a performance standpoint. After all, looks don't win many races, or anything else.Right now in terms of new liter bikes, the GSXR-1000 looks mighty sweet.
I don't buy bikes to enter them in beauty contests.![]()

The thing is my budget is tight! Dealers are gonna be asking close to retail for those next spring.
Also, current trends lead me to believe that all 3 of those bike will be less comfortable than a 954.
Do you really think it's needed if I'm not racing the thing? I'm really looking for a streetable bike that I can blast some weekend twisties on.If you are not the most confident, loose rider, you had best get a damper first thing.

Neither do I, after all I ride a superchicken. But if I wanted a bike that looked like a Busa I'd buy a Busa(more comfy then the 1k: IMO)
The TLR is all plastic....Looks long but has a wheelbase of 54.5 inches!
I rode the 954, it is squirrely....the 929 is better, you are nuts not to try the new Gixxer 1k.......Still has my vote for the bike most likely to get you killed....If you don't have the experience..
Shit, I LIKE the new R6!
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
Yeh, it's Honda's 6.9% APR for 60mos that has me drooling though. I'm considering the VFR as well, about the same dough. I don't think I want to give up the ss performance though.Originally posted by TLRMan
you are nuts not to try the new Gixxer 1kThe 600RR is a sweet bike but me thinks its even less practical than the 954.

If you do the 954....STEERING DAMPNER!
and be careful! More power than you ever experienced..
