spotted the new S1000XR in the new CW
160 HP "adventure" bike. more like sport grand tourer like the Multi.
up til this, i havent seen another "adventure" bike come close to the performance numbers the ducati puts out (except the 1290 but thats more Adventure than the Duc)

It even looks just like the multi....

How about they just make the 1200GS Adventure lighter?

It's been out for a bit. Kind of homely looking and is said to have a annoying buzz in the bars at cruising speed right around 5000 rpm.
I like it but won't trade my Multi for it.
.
Saw one at Thompson... looked sweet. Want.
(But want a new Multi more)

The 115hp with bodaceous torque Tiger 1050 ABS will have to continue to suffice for me..... You know, the bike Triumph later sported up to sell everywhere but the US?

My local BMW-head is drooling over this thing. Insists its the best thing since sliced bread.
Read a couple first hand amateur reviews so far. All say it is dreamy; tons of tech, gobs of power and performance.
This book seems easy to judge from the cover. Were I a buyer in that market..
Yeah, all that is really just picking nits though. All bikes can have issues, if you love it, buy it and enjoy the hell out of it. Don't sweat the little things. Take care of what you can yourself. The people who bring it back to the dealer for every little thing are never happy. Those who find their own solutions are usually quite happy. I understand that this is harder the more sophisticated the bikes get, but it is still effective for a lot of things.

I don't mind the later ones, at least they look more like a good tool.
I'm sure that's true, and I do value function over form, but it wouldn't have been that hard to make it look more like a motorcycle and less like a gigantic misshapen scooter. Whatever Pierre Terblanche was smoking was too strong. I have a good friend that loves hers. Me, I'd have to throw a cover over the front before I got off it, even if it did make me smile.

Now that I think about it, I can't remember any of my buddies ever selling a multi once they by one? They love them. The beemer is getting good reviews and looks great on paper. I'm just not ready yet.

I was looking at them before I bought my GS, I stayed with the GS. It's not a practical sportbike or tour bike, but it was comfortable to sit on.
