Last minute Americade plans, looking for road condition reports, Vermont, NY

My wife and I are planning a trip this coming weekend or the following weekend. I have not been to Americade and may use that as destination, for those that have attended Americade we are wondering how much of a shit show it is to get in and out of the Americade area?
We would only be attending Americade for 1-day. Is it possible to stay an hour north of Lake George ride to Americade and find parking? Or would we need to stay within walking distance to make worth while?

How bad is rte 100? I thought that in another post I read that is was in "horrible" condition? Any other road condition reports would be very helpful.

Tentative plan is to stay off the highway.
Day one Friday:
central MA, western MA, VT. Stay around Killington, Rutland area. ~240 miles

Day two Saturday: Brandon gap, cut across to NY @ Ticonderoga, maybe explore Lake placid. ~140 miles

Day three Sunday: Ride down to Americade, ??????? ~80 miles

Day four Monday: Ride home??????? ~240 miles

Total miles ~700 miles

I believe much of 100 in the mad river valley was repaved last season, but that may be further north than what you're traveling.

Some of 100 is great, some not. They have repaved a bunch though....

Rt.17 on the other hand is in the WORST fucking condition that I've ever seen..... Heading over to T-Road a coupla weeks ago it nearly beat my balls up into my liver. That was on my ZRX, can't imagine how bad the beating would have been on a sport bike....

Oh, Americade is definitely a shit show. There is a lot of good riding in that area but if the weather is good the HD parades will put a damper on the fun. I don't mean knee dragging fun, I mean managing to get up near the speed limit once in a while kinda fun.

If you want to park make sure you buy a pass. Americade can be fun, but getting through downtown can be an adventure...

It's been a few years since I've been to Americade, but if I remember correctly Sunday is mostly just taking everything down, packing up, and going home, not much to see.

I've gone the past couple years from this area thru route 30 then to americade and traffic is not bad at all until you get within a couple miles of americade. amazing ride

i usually go friday or saturday - sunday depending on the weather.

as others mentioned, its really over saturday night so plan accordingly.
