Damn!
Congrates Phil.
Moon is 239,000 from here, so pass the moon and then some baby!
Doesn't look a mile over 100,000. Kudos to your singular passion!

Dang, nice. Not knowing the history... how many motors in are you?
I started riding in 1987, and have about 400K total experience. I bought this bike new, so it is now the majority of my riding experience.
It's mostly original, mechanically. Piston rings and the bearing in the alternator at 122K; replaced the carburetors at 185K. That's really it for the core mechanicals -- the bottom end and transmission haven't seen daylight since it was built. I have, over the years, replaced pretty much everything in the brake and clutch systems. I've had some electrical work done, and replaced the rear suspension unit at 185K, and the forks at 238K. But the center core of the bike (and a lot of the bits you can see -- tank, panels, wheels, instruments, etc.) are all the parts it came with.
A pic at the event:

That's something, great accomplishment.

I'd like to know what the "planned lifespan" is for bikes. I can't imagine they think much past 100k unless it is a 'Wing or BMW GT or something.

Nice, congrats. A guy on the VStrom forum just hit 400k miles on his 2003 DL1000 last week, so you've got some catching up to do
I'm sure that varies with manufacturer and model. Hondas, for instance, seem to me to generally be engineered to last; it's one of the reasons I like them best of the Japanese bikes. I seem to be in uncharted territory with my Duc, though. One clue is that the odometer only has 5 digits. I may be the highest mileage Ducati in the world. I do know of more than a dozen Ducs over 100K, but it's definitely not a common expectation. There's not much reason why bikes can't be built to last almost as long as cars. Most bikes rev higher, so that's a factor, but shouldn't be prohibitive. I have seen bikes over 100K from all of the major Japanese, European, and American manufacturers, so I think that can be done on pretty much any modern (and a lot of vintage) bike if you get out and ride them, and maintain them reasonably.

At that rate, he rides about twice as much as I do, so I'm not going to be catching up with him. I know a guy who does 30K+ a year and is over 300K on a 2004 Honda CBR600 F4i. Original engine, and I'm not catching up with him, either. I've also met a guy who averages 14K a year on a 1970 Triumph Bonneville 750, that he bought new and is well over 600K on now. He's had a few engine rebuilds, though.

The marques that I see most often with very high mileage are Honda, BMW, and Harley-Davidson. People really do ride those things. (And honorable mention to Moto-Guzzi -- given how unusual they are at all, I see a high percentage of those with high miles.)
The tank is ugly, but it isn't rusty or cracked, and still does the job just fine. It's also distinctive; it's part of why in a field full of Ducatis, mine stands out and is always easy to find. Also, I met Miguel Galluzzi (the designer of the Monster) in 2009 in Pasadena, CA, and had him sign my tank. So it's not going to get undented or repainted or anything, ever. It is what it is.

Wow. Nice job
Did something happen since the last time I saw you (or the bike)? Gauge looks damaged.
Wow. toyota make that one?

Yeah, the old kickstand-burrowing-through-hot-parkinglot-asphalt-and-falling-over trick. I got a new (used) instrument panel to replace it already, but the new one only shows about 12K miles. So I need to either (a) figure out how to add about 38K to it (other than putting it on a lathe for about 650 hours), or (b) wait until I turn over 312K to put it on.

That stinks. Such a problem to have.
