All you motarders... how far can you get on a tank?

With my stock tank on the YZ i only just barely make it 50 miles. Which will be fine for the track. but not so fine for Deals. With the new tank i am looking at, i should make it to about 80-85 miles.

I get about 100 miles per tank on the KTM before it begins to sputter and I have to turn the petcock valve over to reserve.

So far I have made it 75-80 miles before I got gas but that was not switching it to reserve, just getting gas because I was near the station.

If you only make it 50 you're going to be having some serious problems. The cost of syphoning gas from our tanks on the side of the road is up to $18.00 / gallon. It's not our fault though, it reflects the price per barrel, the profits aren't real they just look good on paper, the goverment is really taking all of that $18.00.

Bring siphon hoses, my fuel tankers should have enough to get you to a station in a pinch.

Isn't Wayah road a 50+ mile trip just to get to the end? And there ain't NO place to fill up out there!

The RC is more of a Guzzler than Jays Bike so we will be getting 18 for a half gallon.

I have carried a spare gallon of gas in my saddlebags, cause my range can vary anywhere from 125 miles to 175 miles

some of the dual sport roads in Georgia that I scouted out but did not do cause of the fuel situation, and time of day, but it's something I want to do this year, Cohutta wildlife management area it looks to be about 50 miles between Blue Ridge & Crandall where there is unlikely to find gas but, not all the roads are listed as good all weather road, a lot are only " graded & drained" and some are jeep trails.

I don't mind a rough road or loose gravel but I do wanna stay out of mud holes

No reserve on a MX bike

My 525 has a 2.2 gallon tank, I'm pretty sure I'll get at least 100 miles out of it with road miles. Change it to dirty stuff and it'll be down around 70-80.
My 450sx got about 50-60mpg on the road and about 40mpg on the dirt, the 525 seems to be a little better on gas

The YZ has a big carb and only a 4spd transmission, 525 have little carb and a 6spd
When I had that bike at VIR it was thirsty and drank a gallon of fuel in a 20 minute session... but it was full throttle for 90% of that track on that bike It's a good thing they had pay at the pump race fuel there
