    MotoCzysz TTXGP entry

    http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...tal-superbike/

I'm still not interested in electric motorcycles for general-purpose use unless someone manages to invent batteries that can give a 200-mile range with the performance of an internal combustion engine and get recharged in less than 10 minutes, but as a race bike and technology testbed I find this pretty exciting.

Also, after everything Michael Czysz and his team have been through with the C1 project, I hope they kick ass in this race.

LOL... I got to chat with him about this bike over lunch @ Miller on Saturday. Very interesting technology. I work in alt fuel technology development for my day job, some of the battery tech they're developing is very cool. I wish them well, hopefully this one turns a wheel in anger!

I really wanna make a hybrid 2s race bike. Start with a DFI Aprilia 125cc scooter motor, tied to a generator. Add a battery pack, RS125 chassis, and a good motor/controller combo. Set the motor to run WFO all the time, skip regenerative braking as that'd add too much weight to the front wheel. You'd have the torque of a 4s, and hopefully the top end of a 250 2s.

I think their business plan evolves around someone like Honda, Yamaha or Ducati .. buying them out to not making anything more.

Have you followed the C1 development? They have a kickass prototype bike; unfortunately when the MotoGP rules changed to 800cc it left MotoCzysz without a class to try to race in, but they've kept developing the bike.

They were able to apply much of that knowledge gained to this project and develop an electric race bike in 5 months. I think that's pretty fucking impressive. We'll see how it does in the TTXGP.

I've followed the news releases every couple years that lead to nothing.
