So today I took a ride in the Adirondacks. I went to Warrensburg where my last young horse is at a trainer's, learning how to carry me around.
Beautiful, beautiful roads in the Adirondacks. For some reason today, the New York State Police was out in full force, so I was sure to mind my manners. I must have seen over 20 NYSP troop cars out in the middle of nowhere.
This is a pic of the Hudson River just up the road from the trainer's farm.
This was Jesse (the horse)'s first ride:
On the way home, my bike did something pretty strange - it developed an upper engine, upper RPM rattle that sounded like it was going to come apart. I was seriously planning on how I was going to get it home if the engine went bad. At 6k RPMs, it sounded like the valves were ready to jump out of the motor. I also noticed that the oil appears really watery and frothy; I dont know if this is normal, but wonder if the damn thing has a leaky head gasket? In any event, the noise went away as quickly as it came.
I stopped here to listen to my funky motor noise:
Got home unscathed at about 8:00. Best ride I've done all year; of course it was only the second time this year I;ve even had the bike out.
Nice! I been riding my ass off (on the bike, not horses) on the shore and in the countryside doing three states a day myself, but I wasn't riding a horse in between bike-stints. Fun, no?
It's good to get back unscathed, un-ticketed. 'Specially when ya been misbehavin'!
Who took the pics for ya?
