so lame.
like 2 days ago i check my tires. everything was fine (aside from one plug in rear tire from a nail i got 10 days ago). I got out riding with a friend today. at a stop sign, he beeps and tells me to pull over. he says "you have a screw in your tire". worse, the screw is about 5 inches from the plug. fuck. i ride home maxing out @ about 30MPH. I'm sure the other pack of bikes who ended up behind us on the Jamacia Way were real happy. heh.
anyway, i need new tires now. i was skecthed out enough about riding with 1 plug, i'm *not* gonna do it with two esp when they are that close together.
anyone know a good Boston-area place to get tires / labor that won't fuck me over on price?
thanks in advance,

I get my tires from Tire Express mount them myself and then bring them in for balancing. Got my set of D208's from them for about $214 shipped. But as far as mounting and balancing there may be some peeps near you that can help out with that.
My ride's
95 FZR 1000
19xx DOUBLE "D"
(sold) 02 CBR600 F4i (track bike)
06 Chevy Supercharged Cobalt SS
I know Cooks in Walpole (about 1/2 mile from the Gillette stadium) has Dunlops in stock for reasonable prices.
2018 Harley Road Glide
2000 Ducati 900ss
2003 Harley Softail Deuce
Metropolitan Motor's in Hyde Park. Arty is a good guy and very reasonable. And he's a Dunlop guy.
Tell him Dave from Motorace sent ya!

I get them from
discount motorcycle tires online
also look in the magazines for a special like at Chapparal
I have moved to a set of Dunlop 220 s because I'm cheap
used to get 3 to 4 on sport expect another 1 or 1.5 only once felt rear skid on braking where I doubt " sport" tire would have
There dirty little secret is the 220's have
35% more rubber when you buy them just in tread depth
I carry a tire plug with me and have a can of spray goo tire filler with me.

just plug it again, ain't no thang!
your tire ain't just gonna shred unless you subject it to something that would have made it shred to begin with...
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
I would run on one plug and not give it a second thought (if it was a mushroom plug from the inside) but I think I would draw the line if I had to put in a second plug.Originally posted by hohum
