If you want an NC30 post up and let me know what you'd be willing to spend for a great running condition bike, 100% complete, but not street titled.
I'm considering importing these bikes for sale in the USA but I wanted to know what the local demand was for them.
I know some of you Loudon freaks want to get your grubbys on one.
PS: yes it's a feeler, and yes I'm completely serious

What model exactly? Jap, Euro, German...
Who makes 18 inch tires?

The NC30 is specifically between 89 and 92 IIRC but of course if there were specific requests we would be willing to fill up the container with other bikes as well.
It's hard to say on ballpark figure. I see them sell in the USA for anywhere between $3200 beat up and $7400 in 9/10 condition.
It would be a combination since there are many Jap grey imports in the UK.
Most if not all of the bikes would be coming from the UK, since I have good connections there.
Are there any other bikes that you guys would like to see imported? The NC30 is the one that gets me the most excited but I'm sure there are many others I'm overlooking.
As for 18" tires you and I are wondering the same thing. My FZR400 has a 18 rear and it's time for a new one!

Lol. People have no faith in humanity anymore do they? No, they will not be stolen. This isn't Gone in 60 Seconds haha.
Nope, I saw that on CL and it sort of got me thinking about the whole thing. I wouldn't expect to get as much as he was asking.
So it looks like not too many people are interested. Either that or they are skeptical.

well I would love one but I'm not really at the point where I'd plop down some hard earned cash for one unless it was already here in the states and for cheap money.
and Greg, gray market and not street legal doesn't mean stolen. gray market means it wasn't imported through normal means by the manufacturer but was rather brought over later by the consumer. Its perfectly legal but can be a bit of work to get it all done and through customs properly and you typically end up with a bike that's not homologated for public road use.

I'll leave the google search to you...
but I have a 1995 FZR600 with an 18" rear wheel and bridgestone makes a BT014 in a 150/60zr18, BT016 in a 150/70zr18, 160/60zr18 and Shinko makes the podium in both a 140/60-18 and 150/60-18
but the options are limited...so I stockpiled an extra set to swap out when my current tires disappear
edit: just checked the FZR forums, and other popular choices are the Avon AV56 storm in a 150/70/18, Pirelli Angel ST in a 160/60ZR18, and Michelin Pilot2 dual compound

Wonderful little bikes. I have 4 of them. The best diesel in the 400cc range!
Do you have any experience with importing grey Bikes into the USA?
I only ask this because I have imported over 200 Grey Bikes into the USA and it's not as easy as one might think.
I think there is a guy in fl who does it...he had some issues with the govt.... I think he scaled back a bunch.
Maybe a cbr250rr??? Been looking for one of them....
