    neons?

what Pete meant to say was yes but.....some may think it to be a bit ......

In my mind to each his own....

there should be an auxilary wire by your other wires. You could hook into that to give them power and that should only work when the bike is on. You could also tap into your headlights for power so that you know they will only work when the bike is on. I don't know what you would tap into if you wanted to be able to have them on when the bike is off but your owners manual should give you more info on when the differnet components are on. You could go straight off your battery and wire in a switch if you wanted but then you run the risk of leaving them on at some point and draining your battery. That's how I have my lights on my jeep - straight to the wire - just make sure the switch is somewhere that you couldn't hit it by accident to leave it on all the time and drain your battery; under your seat somewhere would work, you could even put some kind of a cover over it so it doesn't get hit by accident....

    good luck

If done right "neon" can be a sweet addition to motorcycle or car.
It seems most of the time these kits get attched to cars that arent even worth the price of the glow kit. Ever see one on a Escalade or sports car. It looks P-H-A-T "sorry just had to"

Here is something to think about:
Neons are fading out and L.E.D. are in. led's draw less off a battery run cooler than neon lights and have twice the bright ness of neon, come in smaller compacted sizes, is all around easier to work with and last longer.

As far as the brighter they go as Rpms get higher I dont know anything about that.

I would ground the neg. wire to the bike frame the positive to the battery and put a switch between on the positive wire the kind that long enough to put up onto your handle bar.

Things to keep in mind, these are NH laws but I'm sure apply elsewhere you can not run RED lights, only the fire deptment can. You can not run BLUE lights on the Police dept can.

    Do it in taste.

Thanks guys. I'm not really into the whole rice thing but my bike is so damn green I thought it might look sweet to get the lights going too.

IMO, anything that increases your visibility to others on the road is a good thing (whithin the boundaries of taste and reason). Green is an excellent choice because of all of the colors in the spectrum, green is the most recognizable and attention grabbing to the human eye. This is why night vision displays are green.

    mmmm, not exactly

hunter orange is the most "attention grabbing" color to the human eye... night vision displays are green because of other technical reasons relating to light amplification.

Amber is actually the best color for your eyes at night because it's highly visible, yet doesn't disturb your retnas enough to close up your pupils & decrease the light that's allowed into your eyes... that means it doesn't hurt your night vision... if you see any bright light whatsoever, it takes 1/2 to a full hour for the human eye to completely dialate the pupil & regain it's full nightvision capacity.

take a look at the color of BMW's dashboard displays... that's the color that's most visible yet still has the least amount of impact on your night vision... and they did that for a reason... they're smart germans

um... sorry about that.... end lecture by professor pete
