Just saying hello and I'm new! Took beginner class in July..passed everything....sorry i like to brag..i got 100% on my test on a 1 on my road test. Which basically is a 99 because you can get up to 20 points before you fail....
So I bought a 99 Suzuki GS500, Yellow/Black...I love it..
and...
already laid it down...nicely....just fell over, couldn't support the stalled wait on my right leg. I lifted it back up all by myself...WooHoo for me (I'm a girl) all the damage I did was break the clutch handle...
can't wait to get back out....
tips and stories welcome...

Hmm...I'd say you scored a 95 if you consider the test is out of 20. Or maybe a 98 if you figure 20 points is passing and you need a 60 to pass...But hey, it wasn't a math testOriginally posted by Cowboyrider

Nice choice. 500s are great. I have an EX500 myself, and I know at least one member (Jankster) here has a GS500. 'course...his is pinkSo I bought a 99 Suzuki GS500, Yellow/Black...I love it..
Yeah that's a tough maneuver, I've stalled once or twice and just barely caught the bike, the trick is getting those legs down real quick before the bike has a chance to tilt.already laid it down...nicely....just fell over, couldn't support the stalled wait on my right leg. I lifted it back up all by myself...WooHoo for me (I'm a girl) all the damage I did was break the clutch handle...
I have two. Both from my own unfortunate experiences.can't wait to get back out....
tips and stories welcome...
1) Don't tailgate.
2) In the spring, ice can hide under patches of sand.
Welcome to the site, hope you get that bike fixed quick and back on the road to enjoy the last bits of fair weather...
Congrats on passing your test and joining the lunitic fringe. You'll find a lot of advice on this site...most of it is good. (except for Jay's advice regarding tequila) There have been a number of threads that focused on advice for newbies...if you do a search on "advice" or something like that you'll probably find them.
That's it! Now you're on "The List!"Originally posted by Honclfibr

Why would you want to move from Woodstock? That place is beautiful and so close to the kangamangus (sp). I took a ride through there this year during laconia and the roads were great. I had a friend who lived there and worked at Loon mt. so I used to spend a lot of time up there. Love that place.
What is it with the Kanc??? Maybe it's just 'cuz I know a ton of better roads, roads far less travelled. Maybe I'm spoiled by living up here. But that has GOTTA be wunna the MOST over rated motorcycle roads in the northeast. Sure it's great for the scenery. But eliminate two-thirds the traffic and it COULD be a great m/c road...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Gotta agree with you on that Stoneman.....there are far better roads up this way than the Kanc.116 and 118 are great....when they are paved.Rock
I kinda like Sandwich Notch RoadOriginally posted by rockGSX-R750-NH
